What does a DDOS attack look like?
You might have heard about DDOS (Distributed Denial of Service) attacks on company websites and servers on which games are hosted. You would also know that this means a load of requests is sent to the server until it can’t handle it and eventually breaks down. But reading about it would not make it as clear as seeing it would make.
VLC developer Ludovic Fauvet has created two visualizations in the form of the game of Pong, which explain the concept of DDOS. The first video shows a web server servicing requests in the normal fashion. And this shows the usual traffic. The second video visualizes a DDOS attack. You can easily make out and understand the difference.
