How to Fix Can’t Add Tickets to Apple Wallet

If Add to Wallet fails, the problem is usually tied to app permissions, region settings, expired pass links, or issuer-side restrictions. These methods restore Wallet eligibility and pass import reliability.

Confirm Wallet and Apple ID region eligibility

Some ticket issuers and Wallet pass types are region-limited. Unsupported region settings can block pass import.

  1. Open Settings > General > Language & Region.
  2. Verify region is supported by ticket provider.
  3. Open Settings > [your name] > Media & Purchases.
  4. Confirm Apple ID country/region alignment if required.

Update iOS and ticket provider app

Outdated app builds may generate invalid pass links for newer Wallet versions. Updating both sides resolves compatibility failures.

  1. Install latest iOS version.
  2. Update ticketing app from App Store.
  3. Force-close and reopen ticketing app.
  4. Try Add to Wallet again.

Enable Face ID/Passcode and Wallet access

Wallet pass storage can fail if key security requirements are disabled. Enabling passcode and Wallet permissions restores write access.

  1. Open Settings > Face ID & Passcode.
  2. Enable iPhone Unlock and Wallet options.
  3. Ensure passcode is active.
  4. Retry pass import.

Open the pass link in Safari

In-app browsers sometimes strip Wallet handoff parameters. Safari handles .pkpass handoff more reliably.

  1. Copy the Add to Wallet link.
  2. Open Safari and paste the link.
  3. Tap the pass download prompt.
  4. Choose Add in the Wallet sheet.

Check date and time settings

Incorrect date/time can invalidate pass signatures and time-bound token checks. Automatic time prevents signature mismatch errors.

  1. Open Settings > General > Date & Time.
  2. Enable Set Automatically.
  3. Restart iPhone.
  4. Retry adding the ticket.

Clear app cache/session and sign in again

Stale session tokens in ticket apps can generate expired Wallet payloads. Fresh login creates a new valid pass package.

  1. Sign out of the ticket provider app.
  2. Close and reopen the app.
  3. Sign in again.
  4. Reissue ticket and tap Add to Wallet.

Re-download ticket from issuer account

Old pass links can expire or be revoked after seat changes. Generating a fresh pass usually resolves invalid link errors.

  1. Open ticket provider account in app or web.
  2. Locate the active event ticket.
  3. Generate or resend Add to Wallet link.
  4. Add the newly issued pass.

Contact ticket issuer support for Wallet pass regeneration

Issuer systems control pass signing and distribution. If their pass package is invalid, only the issuer can regenerate it.

  1. Provide order number and event details to support.
  2. Report exact Wallet error text.
  3. Request regenerated Apple Wallet pass.
  4. Use the new link once received.
