Two ways to enable Safe Mode on Google Pixel 3a

There are two ways you can make your Google Pixel 3a to run in Safe Mode and that’s what I want to show you in this post. It is important that you know how to do even just one of these methods because there are times when your phone won’t work properly due to third-party applications.

Running the phone in safe mode will temporarily disable all third-party apps. If the problem with your phone is caused by one of them, then you can troubleshoot it to make it work perfectly again. But take note that running your phone in safe mode alone won’t fix the problem you may be experiencing. It will just give you an idea as to what caused the issue and allow you to perform some troubleshooting procedures. Continue reading as this article may be able to help you one way or another.

Restarting Google Pixel 3a in Safe Mode

This procedure means that your phone is currently powered on and running in normal mode. You can make it to reboot directly into Safe mode by doing the following:

  1. Press and hold the power key until options appear on the screen.
  2. Tap and hold the Power off option.
  3. Tap OK to restart your phone in safe mode.

It would take several seconds for the phone to reboot and once you reach the Home screen, the text ‘Safe mode’ can be found on the lower-left corner of the screen.

Power up Google Pixel 3a in Safe mode

You can also directly make your phone power up into safe mode. This will become useful if your device can no longer boot up successfully into normal mode. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Make sure the phone is powered down.
  2. Press and hold the Power key until the Google logo shows on the screen and then release.
  3. With the logo still on the screen, press and hold the Volume down button.
  4. Your phone will continue to boot up but continue holding down the volume button until you see ‘Safe mode’ at the lower-left corner of the screen.

When in safe mode, you can continue using the phone normally except that you can only use the pre-installed apps. Third-party applications are temporarily disabled while your phone is in this mode. However, if you have issues with one of them, you can go into Settings and then uninstall it. After removing the problematic app, you may reboot the phone into normal mode.
