Solved Samsung Galaxy S8 Software Update Fails To Download Error
The #Samsung #Galaxy #S8 is a flagship device released last year which has a solid build quality and offers consumers several outstanding features. This phone sports a 5.8 inch Super AMOLED display which is great to use for viewing various multimedia content. Under the hood is a powerful Snapdragon 835 or Exynos 8895 processor ( depending on what region you got the device from) and 4GB of RAM which makes the phone run several apps smoothly. Although this is a solid performing device there are instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy S8 software update fails to download error and other related problems.
S8 Software Update Fails To Download Error
Problem: The update on my S8 will install but while it’s downloading it keeps pausing then resuming and never gets anywhere then after about 12 minutes it tells me that it failed to download. I’ve tried all of your suggestions and it doesn’t work. Plus the worst part is my phone is stuck on the original software.
Solution: The first thing that you need to do in this case is to check if the problem is caused by a poor Internet connection. Try connecting the phone to a different Wi-Fi network then check if the software update will be successful. In case the issue persists then proceed with the additional troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Check if you are able to update the phone software by using Smart Switch.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete try to check if you can now update your phone software.
S8 Keeps On Restarting
Problem: My s8 has been tripping on and off at it’s will for a year I have taken it twice for a fix but after a while it starts again. This problem isn’t app related how do I change the OS or any system causing this thank you
Solution: If you have already checked and made sure that it is not an app that is causing the problem then the best thing you can do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone just yet. Try to check first if the phone will restart. If it does then this is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component already. The best thing to do right now is to have the phone checked at a service center.
S8 Cannot Create Text Message
Problem: An app came up this morning when I was using messenger on my new Samsung S8 phone. I ask question and I pressed no to the question because I was told not to add anything new to my phone. Well now I can receive texts and answer the text but I can’t create a text. I have done something, but I don’t what or how to find what I did. I’m technologically challenged. Thank you
Solution: Try uninstalling the app that is causing this problem then check if the issue still occurs. You should also try to clear the cache and data of the text messaging app from the application manager as this could fix the problem.
S8 Cannot Play Sound Unless Connected To Wi-Fi
Problem: Two issues actually. 1st issue started about 6 months ago. While watching any video, be it YouTube or a video on facebook whIle using data the video will not play sound. No matter how many times I’ve reset my phone, cleared cache, or done a soft reset, the only time a video will play sound is when I’m hooked to wifi. I’ve searched the Web for months, brought the phone to verizon, to no avail. I’ve Uninstalled and reinstalled facebook, youtube, google, and just about app that I could find that might control this, but I still can’t hear any sound from a video unless I’m on wifi. 2nd issue is more recent. Voice text option not working correctly any longer. I tend you use voice text in messenger rather than actually text. Now when I voice text a message it only prints out a very short section of the voiced message but the microphone appears to still be active. I would have to turn off the turn on the microphone multiple times just to get thru a normal size text. I’ve Uninstalled the messenger app a few times. And have check most things I can think off where the app actually is tied to the voice text. Still can’t figure it out. It’s a Samsung galaxy S8. I don’t see that in your drop down menu Maybe it’s time for a new phone.
Solution: If you have already performed a factory reset and the problem still persists then this is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component already. The best thing you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S8 Crashed Does Not Restart
Problem: I was on Facebook and when I went to go and exit the app my Galaxy S8 crashed. Upon trying to restart my phone it froze on the reboot and I’ve tried various things to restart my phone again but nothing seems to be working. What can I do to fix this problem?
Solution: The best thing you can do right now is to start the phone in recovery mode then perform the steps listed below.
- Wipe the cache partition of the phone.
- Do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data.
If the issue still persists then I suggest that you have the phone checked at a service center.
