Solved Samsung Galaxy S8 Shorted Motherboard
The #Samsung #Galaxy #S8 is a flagship phone released by the South Korean company that uses a fresh design when compared to its predecessors. This model no longer has any physical home button making the 5.8 inch Super AMOLED display occupy most of the front part of the phone. Powering the phone is a Snapdragon 835 / Exynos 8895 processor combined with 4GB of RAM. It also has an impressive 12MP rear camera which works well even in low lighting conditions. Although this is a solid performing phone there are instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy S8 shorted motherboard issue and other related problems.
S8 Shorted Motherboard
Problem: We have a Samsung S8 mart phone. It’s 8 months old and very sparingly used. Few days back it suddenly went dead. It’s neither charging nor powering ON. We contacted the local dealer and they say the main board has a short and needs to replace the board. The main board is costlier than a new phone. When we try to connect it to power bank the charging lights on power bank goes off. Please let me know if you can assist us in any way to fix the issue.
Solution: If the phone has already been checked at a service center and it is found that the motherboard is shorted then this board has to be replaced. Since it is going to be expensive to have the board replaced then you should consider the possibility of just getting a new phone.
S8 Not Turning On with Blinking Blue LED
Problem: Hi, I have a problem with my Samsung Galaxy S8. The phone was in my pocket while I was playing soccer. It didn’t get wet or bang against anything but when I pulled it out it wouldn’t turn on and it had the blue blinking light. I saw your thread and tried them all but nothing worked. Now it has no light. The screen is black and with no light so I have no idea whether its charging or not.I would greatly appreciate it if you replied to this. Thank You
Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this case is to make sure that the phone battery has sufficient charge. Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air then charge the device for at least 20 minutes using a wall charger.
If there is no charging indicator present then try the following steps:
- Try using a different charging cord and wall charger.
- Try charging the phone from a computer USB port.
- If you have a wireless charger then try using this to charge the phone.
Once the battery has sufficient charge try doing a soft reset. This is done by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.
If the phone still does not turn on then check if you can access the recovery mode. If you can access this mode then you will need to do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component.
S8 Keeps On Restarting
Problem: Hi, my samsung S8 recently started acting up. It keeps restarting and when i want to unlock it, the keypad doesn’t even show up so i couldn’t unlock my phone at all. and after a while, it will restart again. it has been going on for half an hour and i still can’t get into my phone and i cant even turn off my phone because it requires to unlock my phone which i can’t even do at the moment.
Solution: Try doing a soft reset on your phone. This is done by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. In If the issue still persists then proceed with the additional troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Remove the microSD card of your phone if you have one installed.
- Start the phone in recovery mode then wipe the cache partition of the device.
- Try starting the phone in Safe Mode. If you are able to start the phone in this mode then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component.
S8 Has A Buzzing Sound
Problem: I have a S8 and recently it has started freezing and buzzing like an electric razor. I am unable to turn it off or get it respond in anyway. It has done it twice. The second time it ran the battery low before stopping the horribly loud buzzing and then immediately began updating.
Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this case is to wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode. Once this is done try to check if an app you installed is causing the problem by starting the phone in Safe Mode. When the phone operates in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run making it easy to isolate the downloaded apps. If the issue does not occur when the phone is running in this mode then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it. In case the problem still occurs even in Safe Mode then you should backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Check if the issue still occurs.
In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component.
