S8+ Not Registered On Network After Flashing

Problem: I flashed a custom ROM  then I had no signal it was saying ‘not registered on network’ and everything else said ‘Unknown’ for example imei and phone number and so on.. so I flashed through twrp another ROM and still no signal was trying all online help but nothing so tried to connect to pc to flash back to stock but computer says USB DEVICE NOT RECOGNISED and then I must have turned of OEM and reset the phone and I have is: PRODUCT NAME:SM-G955A CURRENT BINARY: CUSTOM SYSTEM STATUS: CUSTOM FRP LOCK: ON SECURE DOWNLOAD: ENABLED WARRANTY VOID: 1 (0 030c) RP SWRVE: B:2 K:0 S:1

Solution: It’s very likely that the problem is caused by wrong firmware that you flashed on your phone or the IMEI number of your device has changed and is not recognized by the network. The best thing that you can do right now is to start the phone in recovery mode then do the following.

  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone.
  • Perform a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

Once this is done download the correct stock firmware file for your phone from the Sammobile website then flash it on your device. The instructions on how to flash your phone can also be found on this website.

In case you are encountering the problem where the phone is not recognized by the computer then do the following troubleshooting steps.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air.
  • Try using a different USB cord.
  • Try connecting the phone to a different USB port in your computer.
  • Try using a different computer.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S8+ Is Not Charging

Problem: I have a S8 plus running android oreo latest update.  My phone will not charge. I’ve run through the usual soft resets, factory default reset, and I’ve even had the charging board in my phone replaced – but it does not fix the charging functionality.  This is the phone that I’ve owned that I believe was bricked by Sprint and/or Google via an update. Any other ideas or recommendations to get this thing working? Thanks. sidenote: Yes I’m using a samsung branded power block and usb cable.

Solution: Since you have already performed a factory reset and and even had the charging port of the phone replaced which does not fix the problem then this is most likely caused by some other component that is failing to work properly. Some of the main suspects include the battery and the power IC. The best thing to do right now is to have the phone repaired at a service center.

S8+ Moisture Has Been Detected

Problem: Moisture has been detected. Unplug the charger and wait until the charger and usb port are dry. It was working fine when charging until I moved the charger to another outlet and received this error message. The phone has not been anywhere in water or moisture. I’ve been receiving this error messages about 5-6 times within the past week.

Solution: The first thing that you need to do in this case is to make sure that the charging port of the phone is free form the presence of moisture. Use a mini vacuum or hair dryer to dry out the port. If you see dirt or debris in the port then use a can of compressed air to clean the port. Once this is done check if the phone will charge. If the error message still pops up then you will have to proceed with a factory reset as this might be caused by a software glitch. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

S8+ Will Only Show Black Screen

Problem: My phone only show a black screen will not power on attempted a soft reset by holding power button and power down key. Then tried power up and power on key.  After letting it sit the clock and date screen came on but when I touched the home key the screen went back to black. Message alerts can still be heard.

Solution: The best thing you can do right now is to check if the problem is caused by a software glitch by starting the phone in recovery mode then doing a factory reset in this mode. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

If the screen still remains black then it’s likely that this is already a hardware related problem. The best thing you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
