S8+ MMC Read Failed Error After Software Update
Problem: Hello ! I have a Samsung S8+ with Android version 8 on it and it was perfectly functioning until a month ago when they prompted me to update my operating system and I did unfortunately…..now I regret it…ever since my phone stops, freezing and than I have to give it a soft reboot and still many times does not fixes the problem . It says on the black screen that appears that shows this error problem … could not do a normal reboot and that mmc— read failed error appears ….it is frustrating and very irritating to have this problem……Can anyone help me out resolve this problem, please ! I need help !! What should I do ? Thank you in advance ! Appreciate your help.
Solution: There’s a possibility that the update has corrupted the phone software. The best thing you can do right now is to start the phone in recovery mode then perform the following steps.
- Wipe the cache partition of the phone.
- Perform a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data.
In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S8+ Stuck On Recovery Mode
Problem: Hello. I was having a problem with my Galaxy S8+ phone. It stopped making sounds for notifications. It also started having sound issues in call conversation and when playing music. I followed your instructions on fixing the notification sound and it worked (thank you). I next started your instructions on fixing the other sound problem. I start phone in recovery mode to wipe cache partition. I followed those instructions and that’s as far as I got. The S8+ icon didn’t appear. Instead the android recovery screen did. It has the REBOOT CACHE highlighted (which per your instructions is where I was going). But I can’t do anything with the phone. It is frozen on that screen. No keys move the highlight bar, exit the screen, turn my phone off etc. Just frozen.
Solution: Try using the volume up and down keys to navigate the recovery mode menu and use the power button to select. In case the screen is still frozen then suggest that you press and hold both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Once your phone restarts turn it off then try accessing the recovery mode again.
S8+ Screen Is Black After Unlocking Phone
Problem: Very similar to the transition from lock screen issue you described in one of your articles. My phones lock screen will show all notifications fine, but once I unlock the phone the home screen is black. Touch inputs work and apps get started. Once I lock the phone, I can see the notifications again. Sometimes if I lock/unlock the phone a couple of times it will show the homescreen or the app I clicked the notification for. I tried in safe mode and now did a factory reset. The issue is still persistent after just having the base apps on the phone. I noticed it usually starts happening when the battery gets lower. Before the factory reset it would happen if the battery was lower than 50%, after factory reset I can use it fine until about 25%, at this point the issue starts happening again. Many thanks for looking into this.
Solution: If the problem still occurs even after a factory reset then the problem is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component. The best thing you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S8+ Stuck In Downloading Mode
Problem: Galaxy S8+ …Phone is stuck in downloading mode. We get a reboot error screen ox02. We have tried all of your recommended suggestions nothing works. We get a turquoise screen that says warning a custom OS can cause critical problems in phone and installed applications. Then ask us if we want to download a custom OS The volume down restart phone takes us back to the endless downloading the loop.
Solution: Try to check if you are able to start the phone in recovery mode. From here you should wipe the cache partition of the phone then do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data. In case this does not fix the problem then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
