Solved Samsung Galaxy S8 Internet Not Available On Wi-Fi Network

The #Samsung #Galaxy #S8 is a flagship phone released last year that is an improvement over its predecessor which is the S7. This new model is best known for its large 5.8 inch Super AMOLED display and its fingerprint sensor that is now located at the back. The phone uses a powerful hardware architecture that allows it to perform smoothly even if several apps are running at the same time. Although this is a solid performing phone there are instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy S8 Internet not available on Wi-Fi network issue and other related problems.

S8 Internet Not Available On Wi-Fi Network

Problem: so as you know I have a huge problem with connecting to my home Wi-fi network with my Samsung Galaxy S8. It says that internet may not be available . I tried literally everything with my phone almost every advice and solution that I find on the internet and forums. Every other phone in the house, pcs, laptops and tablets even a tv has no problems connecting to this router so I am not sure that router has any problems. Do you have any advice what to do ? I am so desperate and frustrated with Samsung that I am going to give back a phone. Thanks for your attention. I am looking forward to your reply.

Solution: The first thing that you should do right now is to isolate the router by connecting the phone to a different Wi-Fi network then check if the same issue occurs. If it doesn’t then there might be a setting in your router that is preventing the phone from going online. However, if the phone still can’t go online when connecting to a different Wi-Fi network then you should proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Forget the Wi-Fi connection from your phone then try connecting to it again.
  • Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone just yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component.

S8 Not Connecting To Mobile Data

Problem: So my S8 won’t connect to data, I’ve tried these solutions, to no avail: Resetted APN Data wipe / factory reset Contacted cell phone provider I also tried putting my SIM inside my friends phone, where he was easily able to reach data. Im fearing the data radio inside my phone has turned faulty. it occured after my phone was in low power and reset 2 times, after charging my phone, I could not reach data again. ps i live in Denmark and my provider is Telmore

Solution: If you have already performed a factory reset, in an area with a strong LTE signal, and made sure that the phone is using the correct APN settings but you are still unable to use the mobile data connection then this is most likely a hardware related problem already. You will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S8 Not Connecting To Mobile Data After Software Update

Problem: Following a system update last week, my phone will no longer recognise that it is connected to the Internet (e.g. apps won’t work and Google will not perform searches etc.) even if it states that there is 4G. It works on Wi-Fi only. The battery also seems to drain much faster, but maybe this is because it is searching for Internet connectivity? Android 7.0 installed.

Solution: The first thing that you need to do is to make sure that the phone APN setting is correct. This setting allows your phone to use the mobile data network. Just get the setting that your carrier is using ( this information is usually indicated in their website) then compare it to the settings in your phone. Make the necessary changes in your device if needed.

In case the phone is using the correct APN settings and the issue persists then you should consider doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing a factory reset.

S8 Wi-Fi Not turning On After Software Update

Problem: Hey I have a Samsung Galaxy S8 and since I updated the device the wifi doesn’t turn on it just stay gray instead of going green the small wifi icon.. is there something I can do to fix this problem .. the device is not rooted

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. If the issue still occurs after the reset then the Wi-Fi chip of the phone is most likely defective. You will need to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
