S7 Edge Has White Screen

Problem: I have a Samsung galaxy s7 edge and today it started playing up. It’s got a white screen that covers almost all of my screen, it’s bright white and flashes near the top. when my phone is on lock mode i can see the time but instead of the screen being white it’s like a green colour. i don’t know what to do. i cannot see hardly anything. i reset it which was difficult because i couldn’t see the pin numbers when resetting. Any suggestion? Kindest regards,

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to start the phone in recovery mode. Assuming that the white screen issue does not occur when the phone is started in this mode then the problem could be caused by a software glitch. You will need to do a factory reset in this mode. Take note that this will erase your phone data.

In case the screen is still white eben in recovery mode then the problem is most likely caused by a faulty display assembly. You will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked. If the display is found to be defective then you should have this replaced.

S7 Edge Screen Is Flickering Green

Problem: I have had a Samsung Galaxy S7 for about 2 years, but recently I’ve been experiencing a green flickering screen. Once I found this website I tried the soft reset, but that didn’t seem to work either. Originally, it would only flicker if I had the brightness of my phone down, but now it happens whenever I power my phone on. I’ve never dropped it before. But from time to time I’ll leave it on the charger overnight. If you could get back to me with a couple solutions or a couple of ideas for the problem that’d be great. Thank you!

Solution: The first thing that you should do right now is to check if an app you installed is causing the problem. To do this just start the phone in Safe Mode. When the phone operates in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. If the issue does not occur then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

If the issue still occurs even in Safe mode then you need to do a factory reset. This will allow you to check if the problem is caused by a software glitch. Since your data will be erased in the process make sure to make a backup copy before proceeding. Once the reset is complete check if the issue still occurs.

In case the problem persists then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be a caused by a faulty hardware component, possibly the display assembly.

S7 Edge Has Lines On Screen When Brightness Set To Low

Problem: I bought this phone about 2 months ago (had been dropped previously with some cracks in the corner) but it has been working fine. However it has suddenly, without any recent drops, started displaying strangely. The screen appears fine if the brightness is all the way up, but as I decrease the brightness lines appear through the screen and it turns a greeny/yellow tinge. The lines become more visible as the brightness is lowered until its hard to see at all. Just before the brightness is on the lowest, the lines disappear and the screen looks normal again. I have tried uninstalling the most recent apps and running in safe mode. Do you think this is a software issue and worth a hard reset or likely caused by a hardware issue.

Solution: The best way to proceed in this case is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. This way you will be able to check if the problem is caused by a software glitch. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then this is most likely caused by a faulty display assembly. You will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked if this is the case.

S7 Edge Screen Turns Off On Its Own

Problem: I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and my problem is the screen just turns off for no reason but the screen goes black and I can still hear like if I were to click the screen I can still hear sounds so it’s kind of responsive but it’s black so I can’t do anything. Setting I have tried soft resetting the phone like your suggestions but I still have the same problem

Solution: Try starting the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset from here. Take note that this will erase your phone data. If the issue still occurs after the reset then this is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
