Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Sensors Not Working After Software Update

Problem: 24 hours ago i updated my galaxy note 8 software to 7.1.1 after the update i noticed that all the sensors are down except the fingerprint sensor is working I dilled *#0*# and did the test for the sensors and they are all down the screen won’t rotate automatically the sensor in the back is not measuring my heart rate

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to backup your phone data then start the phone in recovery mode. From here you need to do two things. First, wipe the cache partition of the phone. Second, perform a factory reset.

Once the above steps have been performed try checking if the issue still occurs. If it does then this might be caused by a glitch in the update itself. You could consider flashing a previous firmware version to your phone using Odin to verify if this is the case. I would however suggest that you have the phone checked at an authorized service center.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Check APN Settings Error After Software Update

Problem: Ever since two days after the latest system update my texting app (Chomp SMS) won’t let me send or receive group texts or picture texts. I had this exact same problem last September (didn’t find a fix for it till January of 2018!) and the way I fixed it was to do the following: (Chomp) settings > MMS > MMS behaviour > Changed to Legacy (was set to System up till this point) > enable/toggle on Manually Configure APN > Enter the APNs stated below exactly:

MMSC: http://mms.vtext.com/servlets/mms

MMS Proxy: (left blank)

MMS Port: 80

Send size: 1mb

Activate mobile data (It was already on)

Since January 23, 2018, I’ve had no problem with group or picture texts at all. It wasn’t until the latest system update that the same problem started up again. I checked all the settings that I tried back in January and everything was still the same as it was when I fixed it in January. The error messages I received back in September through January are the same messages I started getting again beginning on February 28, 2018: “Failed to send MMS. Turn on Mobile Data (tap to retry)” and a couple of times I got the error message “Check APN settings”

The other things I’ve tried:

*turn phone off and let it sit for a few minutes

*check if app needs updating, it didn’t need one. It was up-to-date.

I saw one of the solutions to try on your site was to perform a soft reset, but I don’t see anything on the back of my phone that shows I can access my battery so I just turned my phone completely off for several hours. I don’t know if that has the same effect though.

Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this case is to check the APN settings of the phone and make sure that it is set correctly.

To access the APN settings of the phone do the following steps listed below.

  • Go to Settings > Connections > Mobile networks
  • Tap on Access Point Names
  • Select with APN settings in use to edit it

For the Verizon network the APN settings are as follows.

  • APN Name: Verizon
  • APN: vzwinternet
  • Proxy:
  • Port:
  • Username:
  • Password:
  • Server:
  • MMSC: http://mms.vtext.com/servlets/mms
  • MMS Proxy:
  • MMS Port: 80
  • MCC: 310
  • MNC: 12
  • Authentication Type:
  • APN Type: internet+mms
  • APN Protocol:
  • APN Roaming Protocol:
  • Bearer:
  • MVNO Type:

Make sure that you have an active mobile data subscription and that the mobile data switch of the phone is on.

In case the issue still persists then I recommend that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Custom Binary Blocked By FRP Lock Error

Problem: well i was using my phone and it was perfectly fine i never drop it and its not damaged , well one day my phone just turned off and i assumed that it was dead so i plugged in my charger and it showed the charging icon so i left it after a while i checked it and it showed the samsung galaxy Note 8 light and on top left corner it says custom binary blocked by frp lock , the phone itself won’t turn on anymore only says galaxy Note 8 and on top left custom binary blocked by frp lock so i don’t know how to reset it.

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data. When asked to enter the Google account information make sure to enter the account that was connected to the phone prior to the issue occurring.

In case the issue still occurs then you need to bring the phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.
