Note 8 Has Lines On Screen

Problem: At the bottom of my note 8 all original hardware. No replacement parts installed. It has multi colored lines coming from bottom to mid way up the screen. No drop just woke up and it was like this. It resembles a heart rate monitor they are thinner at the top than at the bottom. I can send a picture

Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this case is to check if the problem is caused by an app you downloaded. To do this just start the phone in Safe Mode. In this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. If the lines don’t appear in this mode then the problem could be caused by one of the apps you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

In case the issue still occurs even in Safe Mode then I suggest that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. This way you can check if the problem is caused by a software glitch.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this is most likely caused by a faulty display assembly.  You need to have this checked at a service center. If the display is found to be defective then it will need to be replaced in order for the lines to disappear.

Note 8 Screen Not Responding To Touch

Problem:  I saw your article about having problems with Galaxy Note 8  screen. Recently I´m going through very strange issue. My phone screen doesn’t respond to touch but the keys are functioning. The problem is that even if I hard restart it, it doesn’t get better. It is very strange, because there is a blue frame around the text on the screen that circulates over the text plus every time it jumps on the text, it makes a beep, like it wanted to read the text or something. I am really desperate, because, although it´s under warranty, I don’t want to factory reset and lose all my data…Looking forward to your response, have a nice day

Solution: Just like the issue which we have addressed above the first thing that you will need to do in this case is to check if an app you installed is causing the problem. Start the phone in Safe Mode and if the issue does not occur in this mode then it is likely caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

In case the issue still occurs in Safe Mode then you should consider doing a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data so make sure to create a backup copy first.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 8 Screen Timeout Every 5 Seconds

Problem: While I use my phone sometimes I like to read comics or manga. While I’m on it if I don’t touch my screen every 5 seconds it goes black and I have to unlock it again. I went to the setting and switch the time out to never and I even turn in smart stay and it still does it . This problem occurs while I’m in safe mode as well.

Solution: If you have already set the screen timeout duration of the phone to a longer period yet the issue persists then you should try using a different comic book reader app as it seems the problem only occurs when you are reading comics.

Note 8 Screen Is Black

Problem: A few days ago my phone screen wouldn’t show. I was using it to message a friend and when they replied I pressed the fingerprint button but nothing happened. I tried to turn it on using the button but still nothing. I’ve tried the power button and up/down button but still nothing. It’s been charging and still nothing. Once I tried the power and volume up and I got a green flashing screen. Nothing else and it hasn’t happened again. No other problems before this and it hasn’t been near water.

Solution: Try pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. This will restart the phone. In case the screen still remains black then you should try to check if you are able to access the recovery mode. If the screen works in this mode then the problem could be caused by a software glitch. You will need to do a factory reset in this mode to fix the problem. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this might already be caused by a faulty display. If this is the case then I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.
