Solved Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Black Screen But Still Getting Notifications

The #Samsung #Galaxy #Note8 is the latest Note model released last year which is a vast improvement over the previous models of this series. Note 8 Black Screen But Still Getting Notifications

Problem: My Samsung Galaxy note 8 display is not showing the Samsung logo even after doing a soft reset by holding the volume down and power button. It’s only vibrating at times when holding the buttons and shows the notification blue light at times. The phone is ON because i am getting calls and notifications but it’s just a black screen so i’m unable to do anything

Solution: The first thing that you will want to do in this particular case is to make sure that battery has sufficient charge by following the steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Try to remove any dirt or debris that might be stuck in this port.
  • Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using a wall charger.
  • If the phone does not charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also check if the phone can charge from a computer USB port.
  • Once the phone has sufficient charge try turning it on by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to have this checked at a service center as  it could already be caused by a faulty hardware component.

Note 8 Screen Is Flickering With Yellow Discoloration

Problem: Hi team, Am having issues with my Samsung’s Note 8. I was sending a mail with it earlier this evening and suddenly needed to Attend to something so I just looked the phone. Coming back to it now, I started experiencing screen  flickering and discoloration of yellow and green. I have tried the method by clearing my cache but the problem still persist. Though today makes it exactly a week that the phone fell. Please what else can I do?

Solution: It looks like the drop might have just now affected a component inside the phone. The best thing to do right now is to check if this is just caused by a software glitch. You will need to backup your phone data and then do a factory reset. If after the reset the same issue persists then the display might be faulty. You will need to have this checked at a service center.

Note 8 Screen Is Black After Drop

Problem: My Samsung Galaxy Note 8 (only 6 months since purchase) fell from the counter to the floor when the charge cord was snagged. It fell about 4 feet. No visible damage to the phone and it was working just fine for almost a week, then the screen started bleeding purple and then went black. It was still functioning properly while “dripping” purple for about a day. The phone will still charge, but screen is completely black. What can/should I do?

Solution: It’s very likely that the drop has damaged the phone display. The noly troubleshooting step that you can do right now is to check if the problem is caused by a software glitch. Try to start your phone in recovery mode. If the screen works in this mode then you will have to do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data. In case the screen remains black even in recovery mode then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 8 Screen Is Not Responding After Getting Wet

Problem: I have samsung Note 8, after being soaked to water for 1-3 seconds I tried to check it if its still working the buttons and the screen I even tried to turn it off and on once, but after turning it on I notice that the screen is not working anymore. I tried to reset by using the power+volume down and it worked but when I’m trying to turn it off and touch the off option the screen is not responding. Please help. Thank you

Solution: The first thing that you will want to do in this case is to make sure that the screen is dry and free from any liquid. A wet screen will usually not respond to your touch. Wipe the screen with a microfiber cloth. If you have a screen protector installed then try removing this as well.

If the screen is already dry but still does not respond to your touch ( make sure that your hand is dry as well) then the next step is to place the phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb the moisture that could be present in the phone. After 48 hours have passed then try checking again if the same issue occurs. If it does then one lats troubleshooting step that you can do is a factory reset from the recovery mode. Take note that this will erase your phone data.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
