J7 Screen Is White With Black Lines

Problem: I have a j7. My screen has a few cracks but they have been there close to 2 months without any problems… a few days ago my screen started flickering and jumping… I tried safe mode and it stopped, then I took off safe mode and it was back to normal for a few minutes and then began jumping again… after that I couldn’t get it to stop jumping on or off safe mode so I factory reset it. The jumping continued.. would randomly stop and start back up… that lasted about 3 days.. now the jumping has stopped for the most part but now my screen color seemed to have faded. My screen is now a whitish bleached color with really small black lines from top to bottom… And throughout all of this my phone is working completely fine… help me fix this problem!

Solution: Unfortunately, this problem is most likely caused by a damaged display assembly already. You can try to check if a software glitch is causing the problem by starting the phone in recovery mode. If the display works in this mode then  I suggest that you do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data. In case the screen still remains white even in recovery mode then the best thing to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have the display assembly replaced.

J7 Screen Does Not Light When Phone Unlocks

Problem: I’m having screen issues with my J7. I cracked the screen and replaced it with brand new. It was my 4th time replacing screen and it was OK everytime. The screen is working without any problem as i’m using it now to write this. However when i lock the screen few times, the screen won’t light up and stays dark but the touch is still working (i can tell by hearing “click” noises when i hit some button). I ran CyanogenMod 13, then i made factory reset ), updated to LineageOS 14 and then newest release of LineageOS 15.1. Phone is rooted using SuperSU. Do you have any idea where could i mess it up? I assume that the problem is software as the display works fine unlimited time unless locked. But if you have any idea (even hardware related), i can open the phone again. I’m kinda desperate as i have newest OS without any third party app (i have GApps though) and the problem still persist. Thank for your time.

Solution: The best way to check if the problem is caused by the phone software is to flash the phone with its updated firmware file. This way you can be sure that the software is 100% compatible with the phone. In case the issue still occurs even with its original firmware file installed then this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component. To determine what component this is  you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

J7 Recovering Data When Display Is Damaged

Problem: Hey guys. Basically I dropped my J7 and the screen broke half the screen is visible and half is black sometimes fading into white screen and blacking out. It is responsive to The touch but no keyboard is visible that area is black, but I was able to swipe to answer a call before I got a new phone. The big issue is I guess I restarted the phone like a dummy so now it wants me to input my password instead of using my fingerprint to open it so now I can’t get my pictures off of it because I know I won’t be able the access the files without unlocking it first smh. Is there anyway to bypass this?

Solution: If you are unable to use the keyboard of the phone even if you try rotating it then there’s no way you will be able to retrieve the data stored in the phone. The best thing you can do right now is to have the display assembly replaced so that you can retrieve your phone data.

J7 Keyboard Does Not Pop Up

Problem: I’ve been recently having few issues with my Samsung Galaxy J7, and to list a few. The first and foremost one is that the menu key…. The home button and the buttons in the row are not working.. .there’s no led light nor they’re responding to touch and the next thing is that now that I’ve downloaded an app for home button.. .after that… My keyboard doesn’t pop up whenever I want to write up a text or say any document that requires keyboard

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. If after the reset the problem still occurs then this is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component. You will then need to have this checked at a service center.
