J5 Mobile Data Not Working
Problem: For the past two days, I have been unable to access my internet browser on my Samsung J5. I don’t use Wi-Fi often I rely mainly on Data. Also the Play Store app will open, but it won’t let me search for apps, or open the list of apps I have installed. I don’t use any social media on my device, just messaging apps, like Whatsapp and Kik. They seem to be working fine i.e I can send and receive messages, send pics, but if someone sends a video it won’t play. Sending gifs through Kik also doesn’t work, and setting profile pictures also doesn’t work. I have tried doing a soft reset of the device, the problem persists. I have tried clearing the cache on the internet browser as well as data, that hasn’t helped. I am not too sure what else I can try.
Related Problem: Hi I have a Samsung J5 which has problems when I’m using data mobile. It seems like i have 4G signal buy it doesn’t work. I restarted my phone many times but the problem persists. I’m dependent from data mobile. I can’t work without it. What should I do in this case? Thank you!
Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this case is to check your mobile data subscription. If you have exceeded your monthly data allowance then some carriers will throttle your data connection making the speed slower which results in problems with sending or receiving large data files.
If you are still within your data allowance and the issue persists then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Make sure that you are getting an LTE signal on your phone.
- Check if the issue occurs when the phone is started in Safe Mode. if the issue does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Make sure that your phone has he correct APN settings.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
J5 Mobile Data Not Working After Software Update
Problem: I have a J5 . It was having issues, rebooted randomly, and at times would reboot to the update menu. I updated it to the latest software version, and now it’s stopped the rebooting and other random issues that I was having. However, For some reason, I can only use the internet when I’m connected via wifi. If I’m not connected wifi, I get a message that I’m not online. I can see that I have bars of connectivity, and the internet connection worked before the upgrade, I used it quite a lot the day of the upgrade. I am on the Walmart family plan, which I think uses the T-Mobile network. Would you have any suggestions for me? Thank you. I appreciate the help.
