J3 Stuck In Logo Screen

Problem: My sons Samsung Galaxy J3 cannot reboot and is stuck on the logo screen. I found your instructions to troubleshoot the problem. The first step is to turn off the phone. The problem is that I can’t, the phone wont turn off either. Doesn’t react to anything. I can only see the pulsating logo. Would really appreciate some help, even if the suggestion is to have it repaired/returned to the shop where it was bought etc.

Related Problem: I was having a trouble on my samsung J3 a while back “it used to restart on itself” but now its ok and after that just now 22nd april 2018 i was having my phone in pocket it restarted again and it freezes on the logo. I tried to clear cache but that showed an error. I don’t have a backup of my phone so please help me hot to fix it.

Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to remove the microSD card of the phone ( if you have one installed) then press and hold both the power and volume down buttons simultaneously for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. In case the issue still persists then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Charge the phone with its wall charger for at least 20 minutes. Make sure that the charging indicator appears.
  • Once the phone has sufficient charge start it in recovery mode then from here wipe the cache partition of the device. Follow this up with a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this might be caused by a faulty hardware component. The best thing to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

J3 No Longer Turns On

Problem: The Galaxy J3 no longer turns on. There are no indications on screen when connected to the charger. If left on the charger, the upper part of the phone gets quite warm. The battery is ok, (measures 3.5 Volts on a multimeter). I have tried it on a lab bench power supply. After connecting the 3.7 volts to the pins inside the phone, and pressing the power switch, approximately 500 mA of current is produced. The screen does not light at all.I’m thinking either motherboard? or screen, itself???

Solution: It’s very likely that this issue is caused by a hardware component that is not working properly. Before bringing the phone to a service center so that the exact cause can be pinpointed you should follow the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air.
  • Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using a different charging cord and wall charger. In case the phone does not charge then try charging it from a computer USB port.
  • Start the phone in recovery mode. If you can access this mode then I suggest that you do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data.

J3 Stuck In Recovery Mode

Problem: so my phone is stuck on the recovery mode and it keeps looping and am not sure what to do it says that i dont have recovery mode that the item is invalid and it just stuck on the installing system update and it will be on a loop

Solution: If your phone has a microSD card installed then remove it. Once this is removed turn off the phone. Start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. Take note that this reset will erase your phone data. If after the reset the issue persists then this is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component. You will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked if this is the case.
