J3 Cannot Make Or Receive Calls

Problem: I am in desperate need of help with my phone and just wanted to see if you think you might be able to get back to me today or this evening.  I am an insurance agent and am losing money because this POS phone isn’t working right. I also just wanted to add that I bought the phone off of Amazon at the end of March this year, and it seemed to work fine until I had the battery replaced.  I can’t make or receive calls most of the time, and same goes for text messaging. The only reason I even contacted you today is because I tried to download a carrier specific messaging app and it gave me that Error – 7 state ONNET_GET_AUTH_TOKEN: Unexpected status HTTP/1.1 500 internal server error in network response.  Cricket is my service provider and I have spent countless hours on the phone with them trying to fix the problem I am having, just to be told that it was a problem with the phone and not the carrier.

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now if it is determined that this is a phone related problem is a factory reset. This will eliminate any software related glitches that could be causing the problem. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

In case the issue still persists even after the reset then this is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component. You will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

J3 Unable To Complete Call At This Time Error

Problem: hi I’m hoping you can help me I have had my J3 phone for several months now it is unlocked  after fixing some settings I was able to make it work with my T-Mobile family account and have had no problems for months until the other day when I try to make a phone call I get a recording saying “you are unable to complete this call at this time” and hangs up when I try to text I get ” Free Msg: Unable to send message – Message Blocking is active.” my boyfriend and I are both on the same account and he originally had the same issue however they were able to fix his problem but because my phone is unlocked well you already know the answer to that when it first started I was able to have internet just wasn’t able to make or receive calls or texts but now my data doesn’t work at all. I compared my network settings with my boyfriend’s phone and the only difference is that we showed was under Network Mode his was set to WCDMA however my phone does not have that option the only options I have are. LTE/GSM/UMTS. LTE/CDMA. OR GLOBAL. I hope you can help thank you for you time.

Solution: The first thing you need to do in this case is to make sure that you are getting a good signal reception from your carrier. If the signal is low then try to reposition to a different location.

If the phone is getting a good signal the next step is to check if your account has credits to make or receive calls, to send and receive text messages, and to access the mobile data network.

If your account does not have any issues then the next step is to eliminate any software glitches that could be causing the problem. To do this you have to backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the issue still persists after the reset then try replacing your SIM card as the problem could be caused by a faulty SIM.

J3 Cannot Hear Internet Calls

Problem:  Hello Team, please i need your kind assistance i have my J3 device, processor quad core, 2GB,  with all the details described as above my phone works very well it’s only one problem i have and i believe you can be of help, i installed webphone app on my device to make internet based calls but the challenge i receive from my phone if i call someone i hear the person in the background responding to my web call like hello and i can listen to there conversations but for them they can’t hear me except they keep saying hello. surprisingly when i installed my web phone app( MTN Webphone app) to a different phone              ( samsung Galaxy J5) it worked very well and we can hear each other very well and clear. please & pls i will be glad for your assistance because i don’t want to buy another phone

Solution: The first thing you should do in this case is to connect your phone to a different Wi-Fi network then check if the same issue occurs. Try checking if the problem also occurs when making calls using the Facebook Messenger app. This way you can eliminate any Internet related problems that could be causing the problem. In case the issue persists then you should perform the additional troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Check if the issue occurs when you make regular phone calls. In case it does then the problem could be caused by a faulty phone microphone. You should have this checked at a service center if this is the case.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete install just the MTN webphone app then check if the issue still occurs.
