A7 Screen Has Horizontal Lines

Problem: My A7 2017 earlier got it’s screen broken. Now I got new screen lcd combo which initially worked fine. But on 3rd day screen got dimmer (showing lighter colors) and in between shows multiple horizontal lines and then most of area shows black screen. Touch is not working at all. V+ and V- keys were not functioning after I replaced screen. Now what I feel is that even on off switch is not working. I checked the battery it is ok. Now I directly start my phone by shorting two points of on off switch. But again I get lighter color screen. When I try to feed with unlock four digit number but touch does not work. Please suggest to solve the problem. Thanks in anticipation.

Solution: It appears that this is already a hardware related problem most likely caused by some components failing to work properly. The best thing that you can do right now is to start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data. If after the reset the issue still persists then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it fixed.

A7 Screen Not Working After Drop

Problem: I dropped my phone yesterday and now it wont turn on. I can feel the phone vibrate when i hold down the button or if i get a message but im getting nothing from the screen. No symbol when i turn it on or any response after its been turned on. Is there a way to fix it or do i need a new one?

Solution: It looks like the drop might have damaged the display assembly of the phone. You can try to check if this is caused by a software glitch by doing a soft reset on the device. This is done by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. In case the issue still persists then you should try starting the phone in recovery mode then check if the screen works in this mode If it does then I suggest that you do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked. It’s very likely that you will need to have the display assembly of the phone replaced.

A7 Screen Is White And Flickering

Problem: Hi, really hoping you could help.  The screen on my Samsung Galaxy A7 has decided to go a bit crazy . The lower 80% of the screen is completely white and flickering slightly while I can still see the home screen at the very top of the screen.  I’m at a loss as to how to fix it – if I turn the phone off, then I’m stuck, because I would need to reenter my password (which I can’t do because I can’t see the screen). I’m extra worried because my bitcoin wallet is on my device and I didn’t back it up (doh) !   Please could someone help?

Solution: Try checking first if an app you installed is causing the problem. You should try to disable the phone security lock before proceeding with this so that the phone will immediately go to the home screen when you restart the device.  To do this just start the phone in Safe Mode since only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run in this mode. If the problem does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

In case the issue still occurs even in Safe Mode then the display assembly of the phone is most likely faulty. You need to bring this to a service center and have it checked. It’s likely that you will need to have the display assembly of the phone replaced.
