A5 Screen Is Black But Notifications Are Working
Problem: My partners phone is a Samsung A5 and is about a year old. It’s screen has gone completely black for no reason but the phone keeps making text noise notifications and occasionally lighting up the buttons at the bottom, however it won’t ring if you try and call it. We have tried numerous things but nothing seems to be working. It’s been on charge for about 3 hours which hasn’t changed anything and we’ve tried holding down the power button and volume buttons etc. Is there anything else you can suggest? Thanks
Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to check if the problem is caused by a software glitch. To do this you will have to start the phone in recovery mode. If the screen works in this mode then the problem could be caused by a software glitch in which case you will need to do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.
In case the screen still does not work even in recovery mode then the problem is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component possibly the display assembly. The best thing that you can do right now is to have the phone checked and repaired at a service center.
A5 Black Screen After Getting Wet
Problem: My Samsung Galaxy A5 fell into the toilet. I put it in rice, then sucked it with a vacuum. It was not submerged except for the top half of it with the headphone jack. I have a lot of photos on the phone of my daughter from the time she was born she will be 5 months next week. The sound works perfectly and the charger. But the screen is staying black. I turn it on and it even comes on, but nothing on the screen. I want it to work, I can’t buy a new phone right now. How can I fix the black screen? It is not on a carrier service right now, and I don’t remember the android version of it.
Solution: The first thing that you will need to do right now is to try to recover the data of the phone by using Smart Switch. Once you have recovered the phone data you should place the phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb the water that might have entered the phone ( although this is a water resistant phone there are instances when water can enter the device especially if the rubber seals are broken). After this is done try to check if the issue still occurs. If it does then you will have to bring the phone to a service center as this could already be caused by a hardware component that has been water damaged.
A5 Screen Stopped Working
Problem: I locked my galaxy A5 and put it in my pocket for about five minutes and suddenly the screen stopped working. I didn’t do anything out of the ordinary or extreme to the phone. I thought the battery had maybe died which would’ve been odd because i had over half battery and it was on a charger but then it wouldn’t turn on so I soft reset the phone and the screen flashed green lines. It also seemed to be dark (no lines) in the top left corner. .I’ve tried my best at doing resets but I can’t even get the galaxy logo or at&t logo to display so I can’t even tell when its on those screens.
Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this particular case is to make sure that the battery of the phone has sufficient charge. Charge the phone first for at least 20 minutes. In case the phone does not charge then you will have to clean the charging port using a can of compressed air. Once the port is clean try charging the phone using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also try charging the phone from a computer USB port.
Once the battery has sufficient charge try turning on the phone by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. In case it still does not turn on then try accessing the recovery mode then do a factory reset from here. Take note that this reset will erase your phone data.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
