Galaxy A3 Camera Not Focusing

Problem: I had a samsung galaxy a3 2017 and the rear camera wasn’t focusing at all. I had this problem for the full time that I had the phone, which was a year, until my friend broke it. Then I got the exact same model and I had the same problem. Not only would it not focus a little bit but not at all, you could hardly make out any objects, this is the only problem I have with the phone. please help.

Related Problem: Hi, I have a Galaxy A3. Just upgraded from an S4. The screen resolution is excellent and very crisp when using the phone. However, I find the camera, with all its 13MP, to be worse than my S4 camera that had 13 or even 12MP. The only way to describe it is that the edges of things appear soft and slightly blurry. The colour is quite faded compared to my S4 camera too. The front facing camera is much better than the S4 but the rear one really is frustrating me – things do not come out crisp at all, not even on video! And on YouTube, when watching even in 1080p, the people in the videos still have that previously mentioned softness around the edges, and looks slightly pixelated around the edges. Why is this? Is it to do with the screen having a higher resolution that previous models? I only notice this issue with the camera and with watching YouTube videos.

Solution: If your phone is not focusing properly then the first thing that you need to do is to check the rear camera lens and make sure that it does not have any smudges. If necessary wipe the lens using a microfiber cloth. If you are using a phone case then I suggest that you also remove this as this could be interfering with the way the camera works. When taking a picture make sure that there is adequate lighting and make sure not to move the phone when pressing on the shutter as a slight movement will affect the way the phone focuses.

In case the issue still persists then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clear the cache and data of the camera app from the application manager.
  • Try checking if the issue occurs in Safe Mode. If it doesn’t then you might have downloaded an app that is causing the problem. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

Galaxy A3 Camera Failed Error After Software Update

Problem: I updated my Samsung Galaxy A3 with the latest update  yesterday. After the update was complete and my battery was fully charged I tried to use my camera and got the message “Warning camera failed”. I have not had any problems with my camera prior to this update.

Solution: The best thing to do when you get this error message is to clear the cache and data of the camera app from the application manager. In case the issue still occurs after this then you will have to backup your phone data then do a factory reset as the problem could already be caused by old software data that has not been completely removed during the update process.

Galaxy A3 Camera Not Working After Getting Wet

Problem: Water damaged A3. Phone works great except for the camera. Most cameras do not work and if they do it is only black and white. Selfie front camera does not open. Both flashes front and back do not work. Except sometimes they glow all on their own. I want to know if doing partition cache clearing could help. I really would love to have my camera working and I have insurance but Sprint insist on replacement at $225.00 deductible. I really can’t come up with that kinda scratch right now. Any suggestions other than submerging my whole phone in Alcohol

Solution: What you should do right now is to turn off then phone then place it in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb any presence of moisture inside the phone. Once this is done try to check if the issue still occurs. If it does then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
