LG G6 Slow Charging Battery Drains Fast

Problem: I’ve only had this phone since Aug 2017, and it has been great up until recently. Just before the Oreo update I plugged my phone in to charge over night and I suddenly got the message about slow charging . I’ve never used any other parts then what came in the box. Nothing has ever been switched out with other parts. So the phone has been “slow charging” every night for a couple of months now. I also think after the most recently software update the battery seems to go down very fast. A full charge would last the better part of the day, now by midday it’s down to 50%. Please advise on how to correct or help the issue. Thank you! PS I have no SD cards.

Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this case is to clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in this port as it can cause charging problems. Next, try charging the phone using a different charging cord and wall charger.

If the issue persists and since the battery of the phone drains fast then you will have to perform a factory reset to eliminate the possibility of this problem being caused by a software glitch. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this is most likely caused by a faulty battery already. The best thing you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

LG G6 Not Charging Properly

Problem: Very recently about a month ago my charging port hasn’t been charging my phone properly .. I know it’s not the charger because I just got a charger that works for all devices and it still said slow charging.. Sometimes it charges fast though.. During the time my charging port stop charging properly my friend pushed me on my phone and I fell onto the phone while it was charging and I believed it may have scratched the charging port.. Is there a way to fix the scratches? Or something.. I use a type c charger btw

Solution: It’s very likely that the charging port of the phone has been damaged. You can try using a different charging cord and charger then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then you will need to have the charging port checked at a service center. It’s very likely that this port needs to be replaced in order to fix the problem.

LG G6 Screen Is Black But Phone Is Working

Problem: I am using  LG G6. Biggest regret of purchasing as these phones don’t come cheap in this part of the world. Problem is the screen in completely black. Nothing displays but it turns on. When i try to reboot the set by pressing power button / volume button down, i can hear it taking screenshots.  What should i do.

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to check if the problem is caused by a software glitch by doing a factory reset from the recovery mode. Take note that this will erase your phone data. If the screen still remains black even in recovery mode then there’s a possibility that you will need to have the display assembly of the phone replaced. The best thing that you can do right now is to  bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

LG G6 Not Starting After Getting Wet

Problem: My lg G6 got submerged in water. Then i turned it off. Next day when i switched it on it didn’t get started. When connected to charger ( original) it showed battery sign with question mark. I tried to start it forcefully by holding volume down key and then power key together but it is not starting. What should i do now?

Solution: Although this is a waterproof phone there are still instances when water can enter the phone and damage its circuitry which is what is likely happening in this case. The best thing you can do right now is to place the phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb any moisture present in the phone. Once this is done charge the phone then turn it on. In case the issue persists then you will need to have this checked at a service center.
