This phone sports a large 5.5 inch AMOLED display and uses a Snapdragon 821 processor paired with 4GB of RAM. This device was initially running on Android 7.1 when it was released and is upgradeable to Android 9.0 Pie. Although this is a solid performing phone there are instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. Google Pixel XL Will Not Connect To Wi-Fi Network
Problem: Hello, I have a google pixel xl and have been having issues with connecting to wifi. I have turned wifi on/off, switched airplane mode on/off, cleared app cache and data, forgotten and added the wireless network, reset the router and even factory resetted my phone and my phone will still not connect to any wifi network. I have tried all of these options on 2 different wifi networks with no luck. All other features on the phone work perfectly fine. Any suggestions.
Solution: If you have already performed a factory reset and even tried connecting the phone to different Wi-Fi networks which does not fix the problem then it’s likely that the Wi-Fi chip of the phone is faulty. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
Google Pixel XL Reboots When Connected To Wi-Fi
Problem: Started 8/30/18 after I downloaded an app on my Pixel Xl continuously reboots and I’m not able to turn off the phone. This is only happening when I’m on WiFi. Once i leave WiFi the phone works fine. If I turn off the wifi the phone works fine when I’m in a familiar network. While the WiFi was off I deleted the data/cash from google play and in the partition and rebooted but it is still not working. Please tell me there is something I can do to fix this as I don’t want to buy a new phone!
Solution: The first thing that you should do is to check if an app you installed is causing the problem. To do this just start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the problem occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it is most likely caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
In case the issue still occurs even in Safe Mode then you should backup your phone data then start the phone in recovery mode. From here you should wipe the cache partition of the phone then do a factory reset.
Google Pixel XL Not Connecting To Wi-Fi
Problem: My phone won’t connect to any WiFi. I’ve tried disconnecting and reconnecting, turning off the phone and restarting it, restarting the router, connecting to other WiFi, and yet all I get is a WiFi may not be available message.
Solution: To fix this problem you should perform the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Check if your Wi-Fi network is working by connecting another device to it.
- Check if your phone can connect to a different Wi-Fi network.
- Check if you can connect to the Wi-Fi network when the phone is started in Safe Mode. If you are able to do so then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. After the reset is complete check if the issue still occurs.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component already. The best thing you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
Google Pixel XL Not Connecting To Mobile Data
Problem: I have a Pixel XL. Old but still working. Until a couple of days ago, when–after switching from carrier TIM to carrier Fastweb (in Italy) — I stopped being able to access the internet. Low-intensity data apps like Whatsapp work but no browsers. Internet works on wifi; the SIM card works fine on another (more recent) phone; browsers work when on wifi; I checked the APN and it is fine. Any suggestions? Is it time to change phone?
Solution: The most likely reason why you are unable to connect to your carrier’s mobile data network is either you are not getting a good mobile data signal ( if this is the case then try going to a different location) or the APN settings of the phone are not set properly.
Try resetting the APN settings of the phone.
- Swipe up to view apps
- Tap on Settings
- Tap on Network & Internet
- Tap on Mobile Networks
- Tap on Access Point Names
- Tap on the Menu icon
- Tap Reset to Default
Make sure that the APN settings of the phone are as follows
- Data APN: apn.fastweb.it
- Data APN Username: <blank>
- Data APN Password: <blank>
