Galaxy Tab S5e Features

This fresh look tablet comes with a few surprises under the hood, however, it does capture the attention almost instantly thanks to the narrow bezels around the display. It packs a 10.5-inch Super AMOLED 2560 x 1600 display with a pixel density of 288, offering crisp detail and excellent sunlight visibility. It comes in two storage/RAM variants – 128GB/6GB and 64GB/4GB, offering something for everyone out there. Running the device is the octa-core Snapdragon 670 chip (10nm), promising to offer smooth and efficient performance.

Further, the device packs a 13-megapixel rear camera along with an 8-megapixel front camera, offering high-end camera performance that you probably weren’t expecting from a tablet. Much like the Galaxy Tab S4, this tablet also comes with stereo quad-speakers tuned by AKG/HARMAN.

What’s unique about this tablet, however, is the fact that it completely lacks the Iris Scanner and uses a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, thus helping keep the front panel clear of any buttons. It runs Android 9 Pie by default, making it one of the few tablets to have the honor. It uses a reversible USB C slot on the bottom to help with quick charging and data transfer.

You can get the tablet in Gold, Black and Silver, thus offering a wide array of options for the customers.

Galaxy Tab S5e Pricing

While the Galaxy Tab S5e isn’t officially available for purchase at the moment, it will retail at about 400 when it arrives later this month while the top of the line variant will be more expensive.

Galaxy Tab S4 Features

This tablet is undoubtedly one of the best high-end offerings available in the market today. Quite frankly, the Galaxy Tab S4 shares a lot of similarities with the Galaxy Tab S5e, at least in the hardware department. Visually, however, the two tablets look poles apart despite packing the same 16:10 ratio with a 10.5-inch display. That’s because the Galaxy Tab S5e packs smaller bezels, thus allowing for a higher screen to body ratio. But under the hood, the two tablets have much to offer the high-end markets.

The tablet comes included with Samsung’s proprietary S Pen stylus, allowing you to create artwork and a whole lot more in an instant. Samsung has perfected S Pen technology over the years, so it’s not the same annoying stylus that it once used to be. The Galaxy Tab S4 runs the octa-core Snapdragon 835 SoC which is accompanied by 4GB of RAM. In terms of storage, you’re gettin 64GB of onboard space with a microSD card slot for expansion.

The tablet also comes equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera, allowing you to take some impressive pictures and videos. Thanks to the addition of its custom software features, you will have an easy job of post processing using this device. You also get Samsung DeX support here, allowing you to turn your tablet into a full-blown computer by pairing it with a compatible Samsung television.

The tablet also comes with four speakers that are tuned by AKG/HARMAN, so expect high-quality audio performance on the Galaxy Tab S4, as you would on the Galaxy Tab S5e.

The Galaxy Tab S4 packs the same 2560 x 1600 Super AMOLED display, so there’s not much to differentiate in this regard. Keeping the device going is a massive 7,500 mAh battery. Thanks to the USB C charging port and 18W fast charging tech built-in, you can charge up your device in no time. The tablet is sold in Black and White colors.

Galaxy Tab S4 Pricing

While Samsung may soon cut down the pricing of the Galaxy Tab S4 in anticipation of the Galaxy Tab S4 launch, there’s no telling when it will actually happen. As things stand, you can get the 64GB version of the Galaxy Tab S4 for slightly upwards of 500.

Conclusion on Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e vs Tab S4

This is probably one of the hardest comparisons to make given the kind of similarities that both devices enjoy. Keeping this in mind, we’re going to take an objective approach on this determining the winner based on an average user’s requirements. There’s no doubt that the Galaxy Tab S5e is the better looking tablet of the two. Thanks to the narrow bezels and the significantly lighter body, the Galaxy Tab S5e is also much lighter than the Galaxy Tab S4.

In terms of hardware, however, things are slightly different. While the Galaxy Tab S5e uses the newer and somewhat efficient 10nm Snapdragon 670 chipset, the Galaxy Tab S4 uses the powerful Snapdragon 830 processor, which promises to be faster than the Snapdragon 670. So if you’re seeking a truly powerful tablet with state-of-the-art hardware, the Galaxy Tab S4 is an excellent choice. You can also use the Galaxy Tab S4 as a laptop thanks to the keyboard cover offered by Samsung, making it more of a work oriented device than a multimedia offering.

There’s barely anything to tell the two apart in terms of display performance as well as software features, but despite being slightly older and expensive, the Galaxy Tab S4 appears to have a significant advantage over the newer Galaxy Tab S5e. Do you agree with our assessment?
