Note 4 Cannot Receive Calls

Problem: hello there i own a samsung galaxy note 4 the problem is that i cannot receive calls for a few days now it just started to have this problem suddenly i can dial any number, i can make any call just cannot receive them what seems to be the problem ? many thanks

Solution: What you will want to do first in this particular problem is to re-establish the phone connection to the network. To do this try turning off the phone then taking out its SIM card. Reinsert the SIM card after a minute then turn on your phone. Check if the issue still occurs. If it does then what you will want to do next is to make sure that this isn’t caused by a network problem. To do this you have to go to a different area then check if you can receive calls. You should also try to verify if another mobile device under the same carrier is having the same problem.

Once you have verified that the network isn’t causing the problem proceed with troubleshooting the phone by following the steps listed below.

  • Make sure that the call divert option is not enabled in your device. You can check this from the Call settings menu. Make sure that Call Forwarding is disabled.
  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the issue still remains after performing the steps listed above then you should consider trying a new SIM in your phone.

Note 4 The Number You Have Called Is Not Connected Please Check The Number And Try Again Error

Problem: I have a samsung note 4 and everytime i try and make a call i get the message, “the number you have called is not connected please check the number and try again” yet i can txt fine i can receive a call from anyone or a txt and my mobile data is working fine just everytime i call out to any number at all i get that response

Solution: Does this happen to all of the number you are trying to call? If it only happens to a particular number then that number might be out of coverage area or it might be turned off. If you get the same error message for all numbers then you should perform the following troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode. In this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run while apps you downloaded are prevented from running. If you are able to make a call in this mode then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded into your phone. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode. This clears the cached data in your phone which could be causing the problem.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the problem still occurs even after performing the steps listed above then I suggest you try using a different SIM card in your phone.

Note 4 Unfortunately Phone Has Stopped Working Error

Problem: Hi. I have a samsung galaxy note 4. For the past few weeks when a call comes through I get an error message “unfortunately phone has stopped working”, I am unable to answer the call and have to reboot the phone to get it working as the error messages persists even when caller has hung up. I have tried clearing cache and data but no help. Thank you for your support.

Solution: Clearing the cache and data of the phone app is one of the troubleshooting steps that needs to be done in this issue. Since it didn’t fix the problem then the next thing you should do is to wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode. Should this fail to fix the problem then you should proceed with a factory rest. Take note that this will delete your phone data so make sure to backup your phone data prior to performing this step.

Note 4 Not Receiving Random Text Messages

Problem: I am not receiving random text messages. Some texts don’t appear despite me watching people send them to me. There doesn’t appear to be any reason. Someone will send me two texts and I only receive one of them. I am using a note 4 with Verizon service. I restarted the device, I did a soft reset and I called verizon who sent me several test texts, which I received of course, but it is still happening.

Related Problem: In the last month or so, I’ve noticed that I keep missing texts from a variety of people. They will text me and I won’t receive it at all. I can’t seem to narrow it down to one type of phone or carrier, so it seems like my phone is probably the issue. I was curious if this is a common problem or if there might be something I should do to fix it? Thanks!

Solution: You should try starting the phone in Safe Mode then check if you can receive all text messages in this mode. If you can then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded in your device. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

If the issue occurs even in Safe Mode then I recommend that you backup your phone data and do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete don’t install anything in your phone yet. Try checking first if the issue still occurs.

Note 4 Can’t Reply To Premium Numbers

Problem: NOTE4 I can’t reply to txt msgs with numbered msgs like from twitter. I don’t know why. I can send if its a phone number but with the texts msgs from twitter or others like it I can’t reply to them not even the Facebook txt msgs that are numbered like: 40044 Can you help?

Solution: You need to make sure that the sending to premium SMS settings in your phone is properly set. To do this just follow the steps listed below.

  • Go to Settings – More – Application Manager – All tab – Messaging
  • Scroll to the Permissions section
  • Under the Send Premium SMS section make sure that it is set to Ask or Always Allow.
