Samsung Galaxy M21 Won’t Turn On Fix

One of the phones that Samsung released in 2024 is the Galaxy M21, which sports an octa-core CPU and Exynos 9611 chipset. It also runs on Android 11 out of the box with sufficient RAM of 4 GB.

While it’s a mid-range device, it should work properly and smoothly given its hardware specifications. However, it seems like some owners have encountered some issues with it. The most common is when the phone just stops responding and won’t turn on anymore. If you’re one of the owners that’s bugged by this issue, here’s what you should do:

Fix #1: Do the forced restart on your phone

When it comes to fixing a smartphone that would no longer respond or turn on, the first thing you have to do is the forced restart. Phones like the Galaxy M21 have a non-removable battery so they will always respond to this procedure, provided that there’s enough battery. So try this:

  1. Press and hold the Volume Down button and the Power key for 10 seconds.
  2. If the logo shows on the screen, you may release both keys and just wait until the phone finishes the reboot.

However, if this doesn’t make the phone respond, then try the next solution.

Fix #2: Try starting the phone in Recovery mode

There are times when the device won’t respond to anything you do but will boot up into the Recovery Mode. You need to know if that’s the case with your phone because if it indeed does boot up in that mode, then it means the problem isn’t serious. In fact, you can just reboot it from the Recovery mode and it will boot up successfully. Here’s how you do that:

  1. Press and hold the Volume Up button and the Power key for 8 seconds.
  2. Once the logo shows, release both keys and wait until your phone reaches the Recovery mode.

If it successfully boots in this mode, then press the Power key once to choose “Reboot system now” and it will start normally. However, if your device is still not responding to this, then do the next solution.

Fix #3: Charge your phone and do the Forced Restart

After doing the first two solutions and your phone is still not responding, then it’s possible that the battery is drained. So give it a little time to charge and then do the forced restart so that it will respond. Here’s how it’s done:

  1. Plug the power adapter to a working outlet and then connect your phone to the charger using the original cable.
  2. Give it at least 10 minutes regardless of whether it responds to the charger or not.
  3. After that, press and hold the Volume Down button and the Power key while it’s still connected to the charger.
  4. When the logo shows, release both keys and allow the phone to continue the boot process.

The three solutions we specified in this post are enough to make an unresponsive Galaxy M21 to respond. However, if the device still won’t turn on after all this, then have it checked.
