How to unfreeze your frozen LG Q6 that no longer responds (easy fix)

There are a lot of reasons why a phone like your LG Q6 freezes and no longer responds. There are times when it’s because of an app or an issue with the firmware. If the phone got dropped on a hard surface, then it’s possible the problem is due to physical damage. Had the phone been submerged in water for very long, then it’s obvious it’s liquid damage. But whatever the reason is, the problem can actually be narrowed down to two situations; either the phone freezes on a certain screen while it’s powered on or turns off and stops responding with a black screen.

This isn’t the first time we encountered this problem and we know a thing or two that could help you fix it. That’s what I’m going to share with you in this post. I will give you the solution that’s very effective in dealing with this problem. What to do if your LG Q6 no longer responds or frozen

I know this problem may seem like a serious hardware issue but in reality and based on our experience, it’s not. It might even be just a very minor issue with the firmware and you can fix it on your own. That is if the phone didn’t suffer from either physical or liquid damage. The procedures below are designed to make your device respond regardless whether it’s frozen while powered on or off.

First solution: Forced reboot

The forced reboot is actually the counterpart of the battery pull method we use in phones with removable batteries. In this case, we only have to simulate battery disconnect to refresh your phone’s memory. It will also reload all the apps, services and core functions. It’s a very simple procedure yet very effective in dealing with this kind of problem and any other.

  • Press and hold the Volume Down button and the Power key simultaneously for 12 seconds or more.

If the combination is performed correctly, your LG Q6 will reboot normally and boots up to the Home screen. You can then continue to use it however, there’s no guarantee the problem would never happen again in the future.

On the other hand, if it doesn’t respond to it, then try doing this:

  1. Press and hold the volume down button and don’t release it.
  2. Press and hold the power key while holding down the volume down button.
  3. Keep both keys held down together for 12 seconds or so.

It’s basically the same as the procedure above only that we’re making sure you press and hold the volume down button before the power key because doing it otherwise won’t give you similar result. If your phone is still not respond to this, however, then move on to the next procedure.

Second solution: Try charging your LG Q6 and perform Forced Reboot again

Another possibility we have to consider is a drained battery. Of course you can immediately rule this out if your phone is frozen on a screen that still shows a picture. For instance, if you were texting when the phone crashed and the screen is frozen on the screen that shows your text. But then again, if that’s the case then the first solution should have already fixed the problem. So, if your device is stuck on a black screen and won’t respond, then there’s a possibility that the battery got drained plus the fact that the system may have crashed just before the battery runs empty. To rule this out, all you have to do is this…

  1. Plug the charger to a working wall outlet and make sure you’re using the original wired charger.
  2. Using the original power / data cable, connect your device to its charger.
  3. Regardless whether the charging signs are showing or not, allow the phone to be connected to its charger for 10 minutes.
  4. After which, press and hold the Volume Down button and don’t release it.
  5. Then, press and hold the Power key while holding down the Volume Down button.
  6. Keep both keys held down together for 12 seconds or more to simulate battery disconnect.

If the issue occurred due to a drained battery and firmware crash, your LG Q6 should already be booting up by now. But if it still not responding, then it’s time to bring it back to the shop so that a technician can check it for you.
