A5 Screen Becomes Unresponsive

Problem: Screen becomes unresponsive when performing some actions.  Eg when dragging an icon onto the screen, it might get the icon there but freeze when it’s there, screen doesn’t respond to any touch.  If I hit the power button, then the home button to wake up, then unlock it, it will respond to touch again.  I have done a factory reset. I have also noticed the phone is hot, especially when charging.  I’m using the standard wall charger.

Solution: Since you have already performed a factory reset on the phone but the issue still persists then it’s safe to rule out any software glitches that could be causing the problem. There’s a possibility that the digitizer or another internal component is not working properly. The fact that the phone gets hot could also mean that the battery is damaged or a short circuit occurs when the phone is being charged.

The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

A5 Screen Is Flashing The Samsung Symbol

Problem: My husbands galaxy is just flashing the Samsung symbol. It won’t turn off and have no idea what to do. Will it have to have a factory reset. He will be gutted to lose his pics and videos.

Solution: There are several troubleshooting steps that can be done first before doing a factory reset.

  • If your phone has a microSD card then remove it. Perform a simulated battery pull after this by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this.
  • Charge the phone first for at least 20 minutes then start it in Safe Mode. If you are able to access this mode then an app you installed could be causing the problem. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should consider doing a factory reset from the recovery mode. Take note that this will delete your phone data.

A5 Screen Freezes Not Responding To Touch

Problem: Hi, I’ve been experiencing issues with my samsung galaxy A5 since a week. It first started when I was playing a game on my device when it suddenly froze up, no touch response neither any of the buttons seemed to work, only one combination worked which was the power volume down and home button for restarting the device. it restarted after 8 seconds and froze once again. I tried cleaning the cache partition, tried factory resetting the device tried restoring its stock firmware through odin, all of which availed no success. any assistance would be much appreciated, thank you.

Solution: You’ve pretty much performed all of the troubleshooting steps that can possibly be done to eliminate any software related glitches that could be causing this problem. Unfortunately, this appears to be caused by a hardware component that is failing to work properly. The best thing to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

A5 Screen Is Black After Drop

Problem: My wife dropped her Samsung A5. It turns on, but screen black.  It also makes a funny sound at start-up.  Not the normal sound. And, it seems as if it doesn’t hold its power for long at all.  Almost needs to be plugged in.

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to start the phone in recovery mode. If the screen works in this mode then there’s a possibility that the problem is caused by a software glitch. To fix this you will need to do a factory reset in this mode. Take note that this will delete your phone data.

In case the screen remains black in recovery mode then this is most likely a hardware related problem already possibly caused by a damaged display. You will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

A5 Screen Is Off Not Turning On

Problem: I’ve been using the galaxy A5 and everything was fine until this happened. The other day i plugged it to the charger and after i while i clicked the power button to see what is the battery prec. it showed 93% so i long clicked the power button to turn the phone on and instead of turning on it just stayed off, nothing is working, the screen is off, no led light from the bulb at the top. i’ve tried everything, clicking all the button at the same time at every order and way. before spending a lot of money to get this fixed is there anything i can do?

Solution: Try pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. If it doesn’t then you will need to have the phone checked at a service center.
