Nokia to Unveil a New Smartphone on Dec 5

Nokia has announced multiple smartphones this year, and it seems like the company isn’t done quite yet. The company has sent out a new teaser on Twitter while also scheduling an event for the 5th of December which should see the arrival of a new Android smartphone. Unfortunately, Nokia failed to share more information on the handset, thus keeping the mystery alive.

The silhouette of the phone visible on the teaser hints at a bezel-less display which will be a refreshing change for Nokia considering the fact that most of the company’s phones this year are sporting notch displays. Given that the time for flagship phones is pretty much over this year, it seems like this could be a mid or low tier handset meant for emerging markets.

Nokia is also known to experiment quite a bit with regards to its camera technology, so it’s likely that we’ll see a handful of camera related features with this phone. Recently, the company took the wraps off the Nokia 9 Pureview which features a unique layout of five cameras that offers a multitude of features. Although we may not see the same camera tech on this mystery device, we won’t be surprised if there was some cool camera features that the company shows off with this device.

Given the fact that the Nokia 8.1 was announced around the same time last year, it’s very likely that this is a successor or at least a similar device. Nokia phones mostly sell unlocked and off contract in the U.S., so interested customers should be able to find the devices on their favorite online retailer’s website after it’s launched.
