Motorola has had a tough time of late making its way into the high-end smartphone market. Well, the company has now teased the arrival of a new high-end phone that may just turn the tides for the Lenovo owned brand. Motorola has posted a teaser on Twitter, saying that an event has been scheduled for this mystery phone’s arrival on the 22nd of April. The teaser gives us a short glimpse of the bezel-less display on this flagship accompanied by curved edges. This corroborates previous rumors that have talked about a device called the Moto Edge+.
The company is also rumored to sell a mid-tier version known as the Edge. It’s clear now that we will hear more about these two smartphones next week. Rumors so far have mentioned a 6.7-inch display, possibly OLED, 8 to 12GB of RAM, the octa-core Snapdragon 865 chipset, and a 5,000 mAh battery on the Moto Edge+. There’s also word that the phone may be packing a 108MP camera on the back accompanied by telephoto and wide-angle lenses.
It is said that the entry-level Moto Edge will use the Snapdragon 765 octa-core chip and a decent 6GB of RAM. Since it’s still early days, we don’t know when the smartphone will ship across the world. But it’s likely that the phone(s) will reach Verizon’s shelves in the U.S. with 5G support enabled. We can’t rule out the likelihood of Verizon getting exclusivity on the smartphone, however.
