LG G6 Unfortunately Home Has Stopped

Problem: Hi, today friday Jan. 5th. My phone has started having problems and i don’t know why. All of a sudden at some point my home screen launcher popped up with a message like “unfortunately home has stopped”, and “home has stopped”. Then screen goes blank for few seconds and then all the screen icons come back on. But only for a few seconds and then message comes back again and process keeps repeating. So i only have a few moments to access my screen icons on the first few pages only before message pops up again and have to wait for icons to come back on screen. My phone is only a few months old. I been trying to read up on info to try and figure out what i should do to hopefully fix issue. I believe i already had adequate memory and storage left so i don’t think that is issue. But i went ahead and downloaded clean master app to get rid of junk files and had it do the phone boost also. This freed up even more space but still the problem persists. I don’t know if i need to clear app caches? Or what i should do! Please help! Thanks!

Solution: This problem is usually caused by issues with the launcher of the phone. Sometimes due to many apps running at the same time on the phone there’s little RAM left which results in this error. To check if this is the case try force closing the running apps in your phone. You should also check if an app you installed is causing the problem by starting the phone in Safe Mode. when in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. If the problem does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

Another troubleshooting step that you can do is to clear the cache of the Home app from the application manager.

In case the above steps fails to work then make sure to check that your phone is running on the latest software version and perform a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

LG G6 Messaging Has Stopped

Problem: Messaging has stopped error. Comes up LG6 I went through troubleshooting that you recommended by clearing cache for all apps. I could finally get in and the message only comes up with a certain contact I had texted. She’s been a contact for a long time. She has a iPhone. Last week all her messages disappeared without me doing anything. What should I do

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to clear the cache and data of the text messaging app from the application manager. Once this is done check if the issue still occurs. If it does then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

LG G6 Text Message Notifications Sound But No Messages

Problem: im hearing text message notification sounds but sometimes not getting a message with the sound and other times not hearing sound and getting messages

Solution: The troubleshooting steps that you need to do in this particular case is similar to the issue which we have addressed above.

  • Try clearing the cache and data of the text messaging app from the application manager then check if the issue still occurs.
  • Check if the issue occurs when the phone is started in Safe Mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

LG G6 Not Receiving All Text Messages

Problem: LG G6 on Sprint network. Recently noticed in not receiving all text messages. Confirmed this by having people text me and not get some, but others randomly selecting what comes through. I’ve tried to do everything from making sure no one is blocked, updating prl/firmware/profile, called sprint to have them refresh network, deleted my contact and all logs of said contact, replaced sim card, tried in safe mode and factory reset. Nothing is working, could it be the phone?3 Thanks for any insight

Solution: Since it looks like you have already performed most of the troubleshooting steps recommended for this particular problem which does not seem to work then this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component. I recommend that you have your phone checked at a service center if this is the case.

LG G6 Fingerprint Sensor Not Working

Problem: I am unable to use fingerprint on my LG G6 anymore. I have followed these instructions but the fingerprint setting is no longer an option. From the Home screen navigate to Settings then to Lock screen. Tap Select screen lock. Tap Fingerprints. Touch and hold the fingerprint you wish to remove. Tap the Delete icon Tap DELETE to confirm. I am unable to set fingerprint on my phone although the power button works perfectly. I would really appreciate your help on this matter as I am all out of options?

Solution: The best thing to do right now is to check if the problem is caused by a software glitch. To do this you have to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete immediately check if the issue still occurs. It’s best to wipe the fingerprint sensor first before performing this procedure.

  • Swipe down from the top of the screen to reveal the notification shade.
  • Tap the Settings icon in the upper right corner.
  • Tap General.
  • Select Fingerprints & security.
  • Tap Fingerprints.
  • Tap Add fingerprint.
  • Scan in the finger of your choice repeatedly until the interface indicates it’s been registered.

In case the issue persists then this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.

LG G6 Camera Unavailable Error

Problem: First it would not let me switch the camera from front to rear. The the screen went black and an error : camera unavailable appeared. Now everytime I turn on the camera I get the same error message.

Solution: The first thing that you need to do in this particular case is to clear the cache and data of the camera app from the application manager. Once this is done check if the issue still occurs. If it does then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode. Does the issue occurs in this mode? If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you installed. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to have this issue checked at a service center.
