Huawei P9 Screen Randomly Goes Black
Problem: Hi, I have a Huawei P9 phone and have a black screen problem. However, it is neither of the problems people have reported (at least as far as I read them). My phone works great and boots and everything, but every now and then (more often than not) the screen just goes black. It’s not full black, as I’ve seen it in very dim light and it’s like the brightness of the screen just disappears almost completely. unless I’m in a black room I won’t see anything. a few power button hits to sleep/wake the phone usually does the trick, but that’s really annoying, especially during media playing or gaming or whatever. I tried the Cache cleanup and Factory reset already and the problem persists.
Solution: Have you tried checking if the issue occurs in Safe Mode? If the problem does not occur when the phone is started in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
Should the issue persist and since you have already performed a factory reset then this might already be caused by a hardware component that is failing to work properly. The best thing to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
Huawei P9 Not Charging After Replacing Screen
Problem: I have problem with Huawei P9. I changed a broken screen and assembly the phone without problems. After that everything is working perfect except charging but… phone shows charging, recognise charger, shows battery percentage which don`t move…I changed the battery, changed flex cable, control all connectors, did hard reset…still the same. One thing more. When I turn off the phone and connect the charger phone goes on! No sign of charging, battery percentage… Don`t know what to do more.
Solution: This appears to be a hardware related problem already which needs a technician since each component of the phone related to the charging of the battery must be checked. I recommend that you bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
Huawei P9 Only Charges Up To 36%
Problem: My phone have a problem with charging it only recharge till 36% after that it won’t change further. Can you please assist me. Thank you.
Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this particular case is to clean the charging port of the phone. Using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in this port is removed. Once this is done try charging the phone using a different charging cord and wall charger.
In case the issue still persists I recommend that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete check if the phone will fully charge. If it doesn’t then the battery might already be faulty. You should have this checked at a service center.
Huawei P9 Not Charging Properly
Problem: Hi, my phone isn’t charging properly, it’s a Huawei P9 and it happened after I was playing a game on it while it was charging, I played for 6 hours straight and was constantly changing until suddenly it didn’t charge “it was pretty warm 40c around that”, now it fluctuate between 50mA and 1250mA and it’s been weeks and no change. I used to get 1800mA constantly but not anymore. I have tried other chargers same thing. The charger I used at that time was the hyper charger for my phone, 9v 2A, its branded Huawei and I checked manual and my phone supports it.
Solution: Just like the issue which we have addressed above the first thing that you will need to do is to clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air making sure that any dirt or debris stuck in the port is removed. Once this is done proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Charge the phone using a different charging cord and wall charger. Check if the issue still occurs.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Charge your phone and check if the issue still occurs.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this is most likely a hardware related problem already in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
Huawei P9 Cannot Set Lockscreen Wallpaper
Problem: When trying to set lockscreen wallpaper on huawei p9 it will not set independently of the home screen wallpaper. The phone is brand new and I have tried factory resetting it a couple of times and this does not solve the issue. The themes app also doesn’t show anything on the ‘mine’ tab where my friends phone (exactly the same) shows up what pictures/themes are currently in use. The wallpaper will set to the stock images if I select ‘set lock screen and home screen’ but not on its own. This is very frustrating and I’ve had no response from huawei so I’m hoping you can help!
Solution: Make sure that your phone is not using a third party launcher and that it is not running no a custom software. When setting the lock screen wallpaper you just need to press and hold an empty space on the Home screen. You will access the edit mode where you can change the wallpaper. Select the desired wallpaper then select lock screen.
Huawei P9 Black Screen Issue
Problem: Phone starts, you see the Huawei Logo and then the screen blanks. You can phone it but the the screen remains dark and you can’t answer the call. You can hear text and email alerts but you can’t interact with the blank screen. I’ve tried your button combos on your help list for this phone with no result? Any help would be gratefully revived, thanks in anticipation
Solution: The best way to troubleshoot this problem is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete try to check if the issue still occurs. If it does then this could already be a hardware related problem possibly caused by a faulty display. You will need to have this checked at a service center.
