How To Fix The Samsung Galaxy S9 Mobile Data Not Working After Software Update
Problem: I have a Samsung Galaxy S9 through Sprint that has never had any kind of data connection issues until installing the latest OS update . Now I don’t get LTE and data goes out completely often. I’ll lose all bars and there will be an x there. I’ve worked with Sprint tech support and they had me reset my profile, do a factory reset, and reselect the LTE/CDMA mobile network mode. None of those helped, so I was told to go to a Sprint repair store. Went there and they put a new sim card in. Still no LTE and data completely goes out same as before with old sim card. Any ideas? Thank you for your help!
Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this case is to make sure that your phone is using the correct Sprint APN settings.
Access the APN settings of the S9
- From the Home screen, swipe up on an empty spot to open the Apps tray.
- Tap Settings > Connections > Mobile networks > Access Point Names.
- If available, tap the T-Mobile US LTE (the bullet point fills with green). If not available, tap ADD.
- To reset your APN settings, tap Menu (3 dots) > Reset to default.
- Verify and update the following settings for the Data APN:
Sprint APN Settings
- Name: Sprint
- APN: cinet.spcs
- Proxy: blank
- Username: blank
- Password: blank
- Server: Not set
- MMSC: blank

- MMS Port: blank
- MCC: 234
