How To Fix The Oppo A7x Won’t Turn On Issue

It is a dual SIM device that has a 6.3 inch IPS LCD display that’s protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and having a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels. It sports a dual rear camera system and a single 16MP selfie camera at the front. Under the hood is a Mediatek MT6771 Helio P60 octa core processor paired with 4GB of RAM. Although this is a solid performing device there are instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. How To Fix The Oppo A7x Won’t Turn On Issue

One major problem that can occur on an Android device is when it does not turn on. There are several reasons why this can happen but it can mostly be broken down to either a hardware or software issue. If this is caused by a hardware problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center however if it is caused by a software issue then it can usually be fixed by following the troubleshooting steps listed below.

Charge the phone battery

What you will want to do first is to make sure that the battery of the phone has sufficient charge. This will allow you to immediately eliminate the possibility of the problem being caused by a drained battery. Follow the steps listed below to charge the phone.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in this port is removed.
  • Fully charge the phone using its wall charger.
  • In case the phone does not charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also try charging the phone from a computer USB port in case charging using the wall charger fails to work.

Once the battery has been fully charged try turning on the phone. If it still does not turn on then proceed with the additional troubleshooting steps listed below.

Perform a soft reset

One of the first things you will need to do is to refresh the phone software by doing a soft reset. This will usually resolve issue caused by minor software glitches.

  • Press and hold the Power a key for up to 45 seconds.
  • Wait as the device restarts.

Check if the Oppo A7x won’t turn on issue still occurs.

Start the phone in Safe Mode

There are instances when an app you downloaded from the Google Play Store can cause this particular issue. To check if this is the case you will have to start the phone in Safe Mode as only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run in this mode.

  • Turn off your phone.
  • Press and Hold Power Button.
  • Release Power button and hold Volume Down Key when you see the Oppo animation.
  • Continue holding the Volume Down Key until Safe Mode appears.

If your phone starts in this mode then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app is causing the problem then uninstall it.

To find out what particular app is causing the problem you will need to perform a trial and error method. Start the phone normally then uninstall an app. Once the app has been uninstalled check if the issue still occurs. If it does then repeat the process until the issue no longer occurs. The last app you uninstalled is most likely the culprit.

Wipe the cache partition

There are instances when a corrupted system cached data can cause this problem. It’s therefore a good idea to delete this data as the phone will just rebuild this data when it starts again.

  • Press down the Power key and select the Power off option. If the screen is frozen or unresponsive, you can hold down the Power key for several seconds until the device switches off.
  • Press the Volume Down and Power keys for a few moments.
  • Release all buttons when the OPPO logo appears.
  • Select language.
  • Select Wipe Cache Partition.
  • Tap ok
  • Reboot the phone.

Check if the issue still occurs.

Perform a factory reset

One last troubleshooting step to consider to fix the Oppo A7x won’t turn on issue is a factory reset. This will bring your phone back to its original factory condition. Take note that your phone data will be deleted in the process .

  • Press down the Power key and select the Power off option. If the screen is frozen or unresponsive, you can hold down the Power key for several seconds until the device switches off.
  • Press the Volume Down and Power keys for a few moments.
  • Release all buttons when the OPPO logo appears.
  • Select language.
  • Select  Wipe data and Wipe data (Keep SMS, Contacts and Photos).
  • Tap ok
  • Reboot the phone.

If the above steps doesn’t fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component already.
