How To Fix Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Installed App Not Showing Up

Although this is a solid performing device there are instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy Note 9 installed app not showing up issue.

How To Fix Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Installed App Not Showing Up

Problem: I own a Samsung Galaxy Note 9. I installed the Cash App on my device and up until January 5, 2019 it was working perfectly. Cash App had a system problem and I was unable to use the app until the problem was resolved. Once it was resolved, I was still unable to use the app. I was informed by the Cash App team to uninstall the app and reinstall it. After following the procedures to reinstall Cash App, I received a message saying : “Cash App will be installed on your device soon” The problem is, according to my device, the app is installed it but not showing in my list of downloaded apps. When I tried to install it again, I received the same message, “Cash App will be installed on your device soon” and I still do not see where Cash App is on my phone’s app list neither am I able to use it. Is it an issue with my phone?

Solution: Before performing any troubleshooting steps on this phone its best to make sure that it running on the latest software version. If an update is available then I suggest that you download and install it first.

Since this is most likely a software related problem we will be concentrating our troubleshooting on the phone software. Listed below are the troubleshooting steps that needs to be performed to check if this is what’s causing the problem.

Perform a soft reset

A soft reset is usually performed to refresh the phone software. This action usually fixes minor software glitches which could cause issues on the phone.

  • Press and hold the volume down button and don’t release it.
  • Now press and hold the Power key while holding down the volume down button.
  • Keep both keys held down together for 10 seconds or more.

Once the phone boots up check if the issue still occurs.

Uninstall and reinstall the app

The next thing you will want to do is to uninstall the app then download it again from the Google Play Store.

To uninstall the app

  • Swipe the home screen upwards
  • Hard press on the app you wish to delete
  • Tap Uninstall
  • Tap OK

To install the app just open the Google Play Store then download the app from there. You will be getting the latest version of the app.

Wipe the cache partition of the phone

There are cases when the cached data stored in the dedicated partition of the phone can become corrupted. When this happens this this will usually cause certain issues to occur on the phone. To eliminate the possibility that this is what’s causing the problem you will have to wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.

  • Turn off the phone.
  • Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Bixby key, then press and hold the Power key.
  • When the Android logo displays, release all three keys.
  • An ‘Installing system update’ message will show for 30 – 60 seconds before the Android system recovery menu options appear.
  • Press the Volume down key several times to highlight wipe cache partition.
  • Press Power key to select.
  • Press the Volume down key to highlight yes, them and press the Power key to select.
  • When the wipe cache partition is complete, Reboot system now is highlighted.
  • Press the Power key to restart the device.

Perform a factory reset

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then chances are this is caused by old software data that has not been completely removed during the update process. The best way to deal with this right now is to perform a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

  • Turn off the phone.
  • Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Bixby key, then press and hold the Power key.
  • When the green Android logo displays, release all keys (‘Installing system update’ will show for about 30 – 60 seconds before showing the Android system recovery menu options).
  • Press the Volume down key several times to highlight ‘wipe data / factory reset’.
  • Press Power button to select.
  • Press the Volume down key until ‘Yes — delete all user data’ is highlighted.
  • Press Power button to select and start the master reset.
  • When the master reset is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
  • Press the Power key to restart the device.

Once the reset is complete download the app again then check if it can now be seen on your phone after it has been installed.
