How to troubleshoot your Galaxy A3 that keeps on rebooting

These methods that you should be performing on your phone is very effective in fixing any firmware-related issues and will give you hint what really the problem is and why this is happening. So, to bring back your phone in full working condition, just follow these methods:

Step 1:  Run your phone in Safe Mode

The purpose of running your phone in safe mode is to identify if there’s a third-party app that’s causing all the ruckus. In this mode, all third-party applications or those that you downloaded from the Play Store will be temporarily disabled so if the problem won’t occur while your phone is in this mode, then it means there really is an app that’s causing it. Find that app and then uninstall it to bring your phone back to its normal operation.

  1. Turn the device off.
  2. Press and hold the Power key past the screen with the device name.
  3. When ‘SAMSUNG’ appears on the screen, release the Power key.
  4. Immediately after releasing the Power key, press and hold the Volume down key.
  5. Continue to hold the Volume down key until the device finishes restarting.
  6. Safe mode will display in the bottom left corner of the screen.
  7. Release the Volume down key when you see ‘Safe Mode’.

And this is how you uninstall an app from your phone…

  1. From the Home screen, swipe up on an empty spot to open the Apps tray.
  2. Tap Settings > Apps.
  3. Tap the desired application in the default list.
  4. To display preinstalled apps, tap Menu > Show system apps.
  5. Tap UNINSTALL > OK.

Determining what app is causing the problem is often a challenge to many users. So, you must uninstall apps that you recently installed first or those that you installed prior to the problem. However, if the issue continues even in this mode, then move on to the next solution.

Step 2: Delete the System Caches

If there are corrupt system caches, some apps may also crash and this could be the reason why this is happening to your phone. Run your phone in recovery mode and wipe the cache partition so that all the caches will be replaced with new ones:

  1. Turn off the device.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Bixby key, then press and hold the Power key.
  3. When the Android logo displays, release all three keys.
  4. An ‘Installing system update’ message will show for 30 – 60 seconds before the Android system recovery menu options appear.
  5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight wipe cache partition.
  6. Press Power key to select.
  7. Press the Volume down key to highlight yes, them and press the Power key to select.
  8. When the wipe cache partition is complete, Reboot system now is highlighted.
  9. Press the Power key to restart the device.

Your phone will take a little time booting up after the cache partition is wiped off of its contents as it will rebuild or recreate those caches. If the problem is still happening after this, then you have no other choice but to reset your device.

Step 3: Perform Master reset

After doing the first two procedures and your phone still keeps on rebooting by itself, then you have no other choice but to reset it. This will bring the device back to its factory settings or configuration and most of the time fix all applications- and firmware-related issues like this one. However, before you actually reset your device, make sure you that you make a backup of your important files and data as they will be deleted. After the backup, follow these steps to reset your phone:

  1. Turn off the device.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Home key, then press and hold the Power key.
  3. When the device logo screen displays, release only the Power key
  4. When the Android logo displays, release all keys (‘Installing system update’ will show for about 30 – 60 seconds before showing the Android system recovery menu options).
  5. Press the Volume down key several times key to highlight ‘wipe data / factory reset.’
  6. Press Power button to select.
  7. Press the Volume down key until ‘Yes — delete all user data’ is highlighted.
  8. Press Power button to select and start the master reset.
  9. When the master reset is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
  10. Press the Power key to restart the device.
