How to Fix GTA V Not Launching on PC

GTA V refusing to launch on PC is commonly caused by corrupted game files, outdated drivers, or software conflicts. These methods will help you get the game running.

Method 1: Run as Administrator

  1. Navigate to the GTA V installation folder.
  2. Right-click GTA5.exe and select Properties.
  3. Go to the Compatibility tab.
  4. Check Run this program as an administrator.
  5. Click Apply then OK and try launching.

Method 2: Verify Game Files

  1. Open Steam (or Epic Games Launcher).
  2. Right-click GTA V in your library.
  3. Select Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity of Game Files.
  4. Wait for the verification to complete.
  5. Try launching the game again.

Method 3: Update Graphics Drivers

  1. Open Device Manager > Display adapters.
  2. Right-click your GPU and select Update driver.
  3. Or download the latest driver from NVIDIA or AMD’s website.
  4. Restart your PC after updating.
  5. Launch GTA V.
