Step 1: Run GeForce Experience as an Administrator

There is a possibility that the installed games is located in a different file location than your usual location is and GeForce Experience could not locate it therefore you need to manually add the correct folders for your game file locations in order to fix the problem.

  1. Locate and click GeForce Experience executable file to launch it. It is usually located on your desktop.
  2. Click on Settings, an icon that look like a gear located at the upper right just beside your user profile avatar
  3. At Settings section, click on Games at the left pane.
  4. You can choose which location you will scan the folder, then click on Scan Now.
  5. If the Folder where the game is installed is not on the list, click on the ADD option and locate the folder location.
  6. After adding folder as game location, click on Scan Now. GeForce Experience scan the folder for the installed games.

Step 3: Provide Full Control of the Installation Folder

If a certain folder on your computer PC is what’s causing the problem as the games only appears on it, try adding Everyone account to provide full control and the owner. Users will have full access to it and will be able to locate the game.

  1. Open the installation folder for all the programs on your computer. It is usually located on your Drive C Program files (x86) Folder.

Step 4: Enable GeForce Experience in Windows Defender Firewall

If GeForce Experience is having internet connection problems, it can be the cause of the issue since GeForce Experience should be connected to an internet. Make sure the GeForce Experience is allowed in Windows Defender Firewall.

Here’s how to Enable GeForce Experience in Windows Defender Firewall:

  1. Press Windows key + R on your keyboard to open RUN dialog box.
  2. At RUN dialog box, type “Control.exe” and press Enter or click OK to open Control Panel section.
  3. At control panel, make sure “View By” type is set to Large Icons.
  4. Click Windows Defender Firewall.
  5. At Windows Defender Firewall window, click “Allow an app or feature through Windows Defender Firewall” at the left pane.
  6. Click Change Settings option at the upper right side of the window.
  7. Locate GeForce Experience folder from the list of Allowed apps of features. If GeForce Experience is not on the list, click “Allow another app” tab.
  8. Click Browse tab, and locate GeForce installation folder. The default location is on your Drive C folder, Program Files Folder, Nvidia Corporation Folder, Nvidia GeForce Experience folder and then, click Nvidia GeForce Experience to highlight it then click Open.
  9. Click Add button.
  10. Click Network Shares and make sure to check the option Private and Public
  11. Click OK to apply changes made.
  12. Exit Control panel window.

Step 5: Enable Experimental Features

There have been reports from GeForce Experience client that after enabling experimental features help resolved the issue with GeForce Experience not finding games on Windows 10.

Follow the steps below on how to Enable Experimental Features:

  1. Locate and click GeForce Experience shortcut to launch it. It is usually located on your desktop.
  2. Click on Settings, an icon that look like a gear located at the upper right just beside your account name.
  3. At Settings section, click on General at the left pane.
  4. At About section on the right pane, click on the option Enable Experimental features.

Step 6: Delete App Cache

Cache Files are located on the AppData Folder, deleting the folder will therefore reset the cache without losing any relevant data and it also refreshes GeForce Experience app.

Follow the steps below on how Delete App Cache:

  1. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc key on your keyboard to open Task manager section.
  2. Click More Details tab.
  3. At Background process, locate the following process running: NVIDIA GeForce Experience, Nvidia Container, Nvidia Container (32 bit) and Nvidia Web Helper Service. Click to highlight on each of the processes and select End Task at the bottom right corner.
  4. Go to File Explorer, click on This PC
  5. Click on Local Disk C, then click Users tab and then click on your user account.
  6. Click on AppData folder.
  7. At AppData Folder, click on Local folder then click on Nvidia Corporation Folder.
  8. Click on the folder Nvidia GeForce Experience
  9. Click CefCache to highlight it. Right click on the folder and choose delete from the drop down menu.
  10. Exit File Explorer folder.

Relaunch GeForce Experience and check if Not Finding Games On Windows 10 issue still occurs.

Step 7: Update your NVIDIA Drivers

Updating to the latest version of Nvidia Drivers help fixes bugs and resolves issues on the app.

Follow the steps below to update your drivers using GeForce :

  1. Locate and click GeForce Experience shortcut to launch it. It is usually located on your desktop.
  2. At GeForce window, Click on Drivers tab located at the upper left beside the Home tab.
  3. Click Check for Updates located at the upper right corner. GeForce will now check for available update. If there are new driver updates available, click the download tab to install it. Wait for the download process to complete.

Step 8: Uninstall and Reinstall GeForce

In most cases, GeForce Experience client is unable to find games because it is having issues with the current version. If the above mentioned step wherein updating Nvidia Drivers did not help fix the issue, you may need to uninstall the app and install the latest version.

To do this:

  1. Press Windows key+ R on your keyboard to open RUN dialog box.
  2. At RUN dialog box, type “appwiz.cpl”  and press Enter or click OK to open Programs and Features section.
  3. Once in Programs and Features window, navigate through all the applications until you find GeForce Experience. Right-click it and select “uninstall”. Follow the onscreen instructions on how to uninstall.
  4. After the uninstallation, download the latest version from Nvidia’s official website and install it
  5. Restart your computer
