How to Fix Galaxy S26 Mobile Data Not Working After Update

If mobile data stopped working on your Galaxy S26 after an update, the problem is usually related to carrier settings, APN changes, SIM or eSIM provisioning, or a temporary modem bug introduced during the update process.

These steps are aimed at restoring LTE or 5G data on the Galaxy S26 lineup as quickly as possible.

Fix #1: Restart the phone

A reboot reloads the modem and re-registers the phone on the network, which often resolves post-update data failures.

Fix #2: Toggle Airplane Mode

Turn Airplane Mode on for about 30 seconds, then switch it off. This forces the phone to establish a fresh carrier connection.

Fix #3: Confirm Mobile Data is enabled

Go to Settings > Connections > Data usage and make sure Mobile Data is turned on. Also verify that you did not hit a carrier data cap.

Fix #4: Check the preferred network mode

Under Mobile networks, use your carrier-recommended 5G/LTE auto setting. A wrong radio mode can leave voice service working while data fails.

Fix #5: Verify the APN

Open Access Point Names and compare the active profile with the one listed by your carrier. Correct any missing or changed values.

Fix #6: Reseat the SIM or refresh eSIM

If you use a physical SIM, power off the phone and reseat it. If you use eSIM, confirm the line is still enabled and active.

Fix #7: Reset network settings

Reset network settings to remove broken mobile data, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth profiles that may have carried over badly after the update.

Fix #8: Ask the carrier to reprovision the line

If signal is present but data never works, your carrier may need to refresh the line or push updated provisioning to the SIM or eSIM.
