Set up Always On Display on Galaxy S25
Always On Display on Galaxy S25 lets you see the time, date, notifications, and music controls without fully waking the screen. If you want it configured the right way, follow these steps.
Set up Always On Display on Galaxy S25
- Open Settings.
- Tap Lock screen and AOD.
- Tap Always On Display.
- Turn on the Always On Display toggle.
- Choose how it appears:
- Tap to show (shows briefly after you tap the screen)
- Show always (stays visible while the phone is locked)
- Show as scheduled (runs only during the hours you choose)
- Show for new notifications (wakes only when alerts arrive)
Customize AOD so it is easier to read
- In the same Always On Display menu, open Clock style and pick a design you can read quickly.
- Enable notification icons if you want lock-screen alerts at a glance.
- If your model supports it, enable lock screen wallpaper on AOD for a richer look, or keep a plain background to reduce battery use.
- Lock the phone and test AOD once to confirm the mode and schedule behave as expected.
If Always On Display is not showing
- Make sure Power saving mode is not restricting lock-screen features.
- Restart the phone, then recheck Settings > Lock screen and AOD > Always On Display.
- Install pending updates from Settings > Software update.
