How to Enable Spam Call Protection on Galaxy S25

Spam calls are a daily annoyance, but your Galaxy S25 comes with built-in tools to filter them out automatically. Samsung’s Smart Call feature identifies potential spam and scam calls before you pick up, saving you from unwanted interruptions.

Enable Smart Call spam protection

The fastest way to block spam calls is through Samsung’s built-in Caller ID and spam protection:

  1. Open the Phone app on your Galaxy S25.
  2. Tap the three dots (More options) in the top-right corner.
  3. Select Settings from the menu.
  4. Tap Caller ID and spam protection.
  5. Toggle the switch to turn it On.
  6. Tap Block spam and scam calls to configure the filter level:
    • Block all spam and scam calls for maximum protection
    • Only block high-risk scam calls if you want to allow potential telemarketing calls

Once enabled, your phone will flag or block suspicious calls automatically based on a constantly updated database of known spam numbers.

Block unknown or private numbers

If you want to go further and reject all calls from numbers not in your contacts:

  1. In the Phone app, tap three dots > Settings > Block numbers.
  2. Toggle on Block calls from unknown numbers.

This sends calls from private or unidentified callers straight to voicemail.

Block specific numbers manually

For persistent callers that get through:

  1. Open the Phone app and go to the Recents tab.
  2. Tap the number you want to block.
  3. Tap Block or Block/report spam.
  4. Confirm to add the number to your blocked list.

What if the feature is missing?

Some carrier-branded Galaxy S25 models disable Samsung’s Smart Call in favor of their own spam protection apps. If you do not see “Caller ID and spam protection” in your Phone app settings:

  • Check your carrier’s app store for their official call protection app (such as T-Mobile Scam Shield or Verizon Call Filter)
  • Contact your carrier to confirm spam protection options on your plan

Keep your protection current

Spam tactics change constantly. Ensure your Galaxy S25 is running the latest software for the most up-to-date spam number database:

  1. Go to Settings > Software update.
  2. Tap Download and install if an update is available.

With Smart Call enabled, your Galaxy S25 actively works in the background to keep nuisance calls from reaching you.
