Galaxy S21 Can’t Receive Calls? Here are the solutions

In this troubleshooting guide, you will learn what to do if your Samsung Galaxy S21 can’t receive calls after an update. There are a few procedures you have to do to try and fix the problem on your own before deciding to call your service provider for more assistance. Read on to learn more.

High-end smartphones are expected to work properly with minimal issues. So when a premium device like the Samsung Galaxy S21 can’t receive calls, you can always expect it to be an issue with the network or a minor problem with your phone. As an owner, you must try troubleshooting it for you to be able to understand what the issue is all about and how to fix it. If you’re one of the users with a problem like this, then here’s what you should do:

First solution: Force restart your phone

The first thing you have to do is to refresh your phone’s memory by restarting it. If this problem occurred without apparent reason or cause, then it’s probably just a minor issue with your phone’s firmware or services.

  1. So press and hold the Volume Down button and the Power key for 8 seconds. This will trigger your phone to shut down and power back up.
  2. When the logo shows, release both keys and allow your phone to continue the boot process.

After the restart, try making calls and see if the problem is fixed.

Second solution: Make sure you have a good reception

When it comes to texting and calling, having a good reception is a must. So if the first procedure fails, what you have to do next is to check to see if your device has a good reception or not.

Simply take a look at the signal indicator at the upper-right corner of the screen. If it shows that your phone only gets one or a couple of bars, then it means it’s not getting a strong or stable reception. And that might be the reason why you can’t receive phone calls on your Galaxy S21.

However, if your phone has a good reception but can’t receive calls, then it might be an issue with one of the network services on your device. Try the next solution.

Third solution: Reset the network settings of your phone

Assuming that your phone is getting a decent signal reception, the next thing you have to do is to reset the network services. It’s possible that one of the wireless services has stopped working and affected your phone’s performance. So reset the network settings to reload and refresh them. Here’s how:

  1. Open the Settings app on your phone.
  2. Scroll down and tap General management.
  3. Tap Reset to view the reset options.
  4. Tap Reset network settings.
  5. Tap Reset settings and if prompted, enter your security lock.
  6. Tap Reset to proceed with the network settings reset.

After the network reset, try making a phone call to see if the problem is fixed.

Fourth solution: Call your service provider

After resetting the network settings and your phone is still not able to receive calls, then it’s probably an account or a network-related problem. At this point, you have to call your service provider using a different phone.

If it’s an account issue, then the representative will tell you what to do so that you can use the service again. However, if it’s a network problem or an outage, then you will be advised how long you have to wait before the problem is fixed.

We hope that this guide can help you one way or the other.
