Troubleshooting Galaxy A30 that keeps disconnecting from WiFi Network

In troubleshooting a phone with network issues, you need to be thorough to easily and safely determine the problem and fix it. We should try to prevent data loss just to make your phone connect to the network consistently again. With that being said, here are the things you need to do…

First solution: Force restart your phone

This must be the first thing you have to do as this could be just a minor firmware issue that affected your phone’s radio functionality. I personally encountered a problem like this before that was fixed by doing this procedure. The forced restart is actually a simulated battery removal that will refresh your phone’s memory as well as reload all its apps and services including ones that are used by your phone’s radios or wireless functions. Here’s how it’s done:

  1. Press and hold the Volume Down button and don’t release it yet.
  2. While holding down the volume button, press and hold the Power key as well.
  3. Keep both keys held down together for 15 seconds or until the Galaxy A30 logo shows on the screen.

Once your phone has finished the reboot, let it reconnect to the same network to see if it still keeps disconnecting. If it still does, then move on to the next solution.

Second solution: Power-cycle network devices

Before you proceed with your troubleshooting, it’s best at this point to restart or power-cycle your network devices. Your router or modem also needs to be refreshed from time to time and a simple restart may rectify this problem.

  1. Unplug your modem or router from the wall outlet or simply disconnect the power cord.
  2. Leave the device without power for a minute or two.
  3. After which, reconnect the power cord or plug it back into the wall outlet.
  4. Wait for your network device to become online and then let your phone reconnect to the network.

If your phone still keeps disconnecting from the network even after this, then move on to the next solution.

Third solution: Reset network settings to fix phone that keeps disconnecting

After the first two solutions and the phone still keeps disconnecting, then the next thing you need to do is reset the network settings of your device. This covers all wireless connections in your device but it’s very effective especially if this is just a problem with your phone’s radios. Don’t worry, none of your data or files will be deleted, so there’s no risk in doing this procedure. Here’s how…

  1. Swipe down from the top of the screen to pull the notification panel down.
  2. Tap the Settings icon on the upper-right corner.
  3. Scroll to and tap General management.
  4. Touch Reset.
  5. Tap Reset network settings.
  6. Tap Reset settings.
  7. If prompted, enter your PIN, Password or Pattern.
  8. Finally, tap Reset.

After doing this, only the mobile data is enabled in your device. So, turn on WiFi and then let your phone reconnect to the network. If it still keeps disconnecting after this, try the next solution.

Fourth solution: Delete the old system cache

It is also possible that the phone keeps disconnecting from the network because the system cache is corrupt. You need to rule out this possibility as many of the cases we’ve encountered in the past were fixed by this procedure. Here’s how it’s done;

  1. Turn off the device.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Up and Power keys.
  3. When the Galaxy A30 logo shows, release all three keys.
  4. Your Galaxy A30 will continue to boot up into the Recovery Mode. Once you see a black screen with blue and yellow texts, proceed to the next step.
  5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight wipe cache partition.
  6. Press Power key to select.
  7. Press the Volume down key to highlight yes, them and press the Power key to select.
  8. When the wipe cache partition is complete, Reboot system now is highlighted.
  9. Press the Power key to restart the device.

Once the phone has finished rebooting, try to see if it still keeps disconnecting. If it does, then move on to the next solution.

Fifth solution: Backup important files and reset your phone

As long as the firmware of your device hasn’t been modified in any way, a master reset will be able to fix this problem because at this point, it’s clear that the problem is with the firmware. However, before you actually do the reset, make sure to create a copy of your important files and data as they will be deleted and you may not be able to recover them if that happens. After the backup, make sure to remove your Google account so that you won’t be locked out of your device. When everything is ready, follow these steps to reset your phone:

  5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight ‘wipe data / factory reset’.
  6. Press Power button to select.
  7. Press the Volume down key until ‘Yes’ is highlighted.
  8. Press Power button to select and start the master reset.
  9. When the master reset is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
  10. Press the Power key to restart the device.
