Note 3 S-Note Stops Working

Problem: My S-note stops working once I press save. 1) Error code/message: S note has stopped working 2) Description of error: whenever I press save button on Snote, just after 2 seconds the snote application stops working, this has happened after synchronising my Snote with evernote. I have tried resetting my device and stopped synchronising with everynote or Samsung account but still the problem exist. please suggest solution also tell which synchronisation is better with Evernote or Samsung account.

Solution: The first step that needs to be done is to refresh your device by simply turning it off then turning it back on again. You may also want to try to remove its battery before turning it back on. This removes any glitches that may be present in the phone memory. Once our device has rebooted check and see if the issue still exists. If it does then you may want to reboot in Safe Mode to see if any third party application is causing the problem.

To boot in Safe Mode

  • Turn the device off.
  • Press and hold the Power key.
  • When ‘GALAXY Note 3’ appears on the screen, release the Power key. Immediately after releasing the Power key, press and hold the Volume down key.
  • Continue to hold the Volume down key until the device finishes restarting.
  • ‘Safe mode’ will display in the bottom left corner of the screen. Release the Volume down key when you see ‘Safe Mode.’

If in Safe Mode the issue does not occur then you have to find the third party app that is causing this and uninstall it.

One other troubleshooting step that works is to download a language in the keyboard setting. Any language will do. Go to setting>language and inputs >click on settings of Samsung keyboard>choose Handwriting> choose Input languages and download any one of them. Wait for the installation to finish then check on your S-Note.

On the question of which is better, Evernote or Samsung account it really depends on the preference of the user. Both have their own strengths that suits different individuals.

Note 3 “Unfortunately, the process android.process.media has stopped”

Problem: Hey guys i have recently updated my note 3 n9005 model to the latest version. Been working fine, how i have this minor issue and its with my messenger; whatsapp. Lately i have been unable to change my message ringtone. Each time i tried i am getting this error message “Unfortunately, the process android.process.media has stopped”. Thanks in  advance for your help.

Solution: Try doing a soft reset on your device first and see if you are still getting the error message.

To do a soft reset

  • Turn your phone off.
  • Remove the battery. After 30 seconds, reinsert the battery.
  • Turn your phone back on.

If that doesn’t work then do a factory reset on your device. You need to backup all your important data first before performing this procedure.

  • Turn off the device.
  • Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time: Volume Up key, Home key, Power key.
  • When ‘GALAXY Note 3’ appears on the screen, release the Power key but continue to press and hold the Volume Up key and the Home key.
  • When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up and Home keys.
  • Press the Volume down key to highlight ‘wipe data / factory reset.’
  • Press Power button to select.
  • Press the Volume down key to highlight ‘delete all user data.’

  • Press the Power key to turn the restart the device.

Note 3 Audible App Problem

Problem: When I play my fully downloaded audio book from the Audible app the S-voice on my note 3 always says “I can’t find a network connection”. I have wi-fi turned off to save battery and mobile data turned off. I have turned everything off I can think of and even put it airplane mode…still it stops the audio book to tell me “I can’t find a network connection”. Also happens when the phone is in my pocket at work and I bend down. I have  deleted the book and reloaded it so I know it is fully downloaded so there is no reason to connect to internet when listening. Any ideas for a fix. Thanks.

Solution: Do a soft reset on your device to clear out any possible glitches in its memory.

  • Turn your phone off.
  • Remove the battery. After 30 seconds, reinsert the battery.
  • Turn your phone back on.

Next try to check if there are any new software updates for your device. If there are then install them. These updates usually contains improvements and bug fixes for your device.

To check and see if a third party app is causing this issue it is highly recommended to boot your device in Safe Mode. In this mode only the default apps are loaded making it easier to check if anything you installed might be the cause of the problem.

Try to clear the cache of the S-Voice app

  • From the home screen, tap the Apps icon.
  • Tap Settings.
  • From the General tab, tap Application manager.
  • Swipe left to the All tab.
  • Scroll to and tap S-Voice.
  • Tap Clear cache.
  • The application cache is now cleared.

Note 3 Emails Deleted

Problem: Hi, Please can you assist. My phone keeps wiping my emails. I changed the settings to a month to give me more emails as it was previously on 2 weeks but it did not like it and wiped the emails! Even when I put the settings back to 2 weeks. Now I constantly have 2-3 emails at a time and then they get wiped!! Please can you assist. Thanks

Solution: The quickest way to resolve this is to delete the email account on your phone then enter it again. If you are accessing the same email account from a browser check its settings too. Sometimes if you delete emails in your browser they may get deleted in your phone as well.

Note 3 Randomly Activates Silent Mode

Problem: Hi, I have a Note 3 and recently update 4.4.2. The issue I have is turn on silent by itself or reduce the ringing volume. One day I did factory reset too. Then it ok for few days and coming back to silent issue. Please guide me to overcome from this issue. And you very much for what you are doing. It’s a really GREAT… Thanks again.

Solution: You mentioned that when you di a factory reset the problem disappeared then after a few days it occurred again. There must be something that changed in your device during those few days. One of the most likely culprits is a third party app. Try doing a factory reset again then download your usual apps. Only this time, once you downloaded one app try to observe first if the silent mode will be activated. Repeat this procedure until you get to an app that triggers the silent mode.

Note 3 Takes Too Long To Get GPS Signal

Problem: I recently bought a Samsung galaxy note 3 on eBay. I love the phone except for one problem-the GPS takes about 2-3 minutes to initially obtain a signal lock. It’s been this way since I first got it and went through a factory reset.

Solution: Getting a fix on a GPS signal is usually quicker when in an open space since there isn’t any obstruction between the satellites above and your phone. If you are inside a building then it may take quite a longer time to get a lock.

This could also be a software concern. Try to check if there are any new software updates for your device and install them. These updates usually contains improvements and in your case it may have an improvement for the GPS feature of your device.

Note 3 S-Finder Keeps Popping Up

Problem: I have a samsung note 3. The S Finder keeps popping up. I’ll be in the middle of texting, browsing the web or anything else on my phone when S Finder pops up. Did a factor reset didn’t help. Best guest it’s a hardware problem like a bad key. Help!

Solution: Try placing your device flat on a table and see if the S-Finder pops up. If it does then it’s already a hardware problem. You might be right in guessing that it’s a defective hardware key. In this case you may need to bring it to an authorized service center for checking. If it doesn’t pop-up then you might be accidentally pressing on the menu button.

Note 3 Can’t Make Bluetooth Calls With Case Installed

Problem: I have a galaxy note 3 and I purchased a samsung flip case so that it woud not get damaged in my pocket. It works great, exept for the fact that I cannot initiate phone calls via the blutooth ear piece while the case is closed and in my pocket. I can answer incoming calls but I cannot make a call unless i take it out and open the case. Is there any overide for this? I have beem looking.

Solution: There could be an issue with the S-Voice app of your device. One quick fix to this is to disable S-Voice in the application manager and then use Google Now. When you try to make a call using a Bluetooth device it will now work.

If you prefer to troubleshoot further and use S-Voice try clearing the app cache

  • From the home screen, tap the Apps icon.
  • Tap Settings.
  • From the General tab, tap Application manager.
  • Swipe left to the All tab.
  • Scroll to and tap S-Voice.
  • Tap Clear cache.
  • The application cache is now cleared.

Try also to check if there are any new software updates for your device and install them.

  1. Good day. Please i have an issue on my note 3 as follows:

    1. I got the error message “unfortunately android has stopped”
    2. I cant access contents of my messages, email and the likes.

How can these issues be resolved.

  2. My Note 3 randomly hard reset itself this morning while I was getting ready for work. All my apps and everything were gone and it was on the setup screen. Very confused.

  3. Note 3 Emails Deleted – The reason they erase is when you download all your new emails from the server to your main computer it wipes them off the server. And when your cell sync with the server and sees the emails are gone, it deletes them off your cell. Drove us S3 users insane last year until someone figured this out. The cell thinks you should be using a cloud-based email, like Gmail, while I use Thunderbird. So on my cell I now use K9 with the snyc turned off and “leave emails on server” chosen. I only manually download, Now it’s fine.
