Fix Bose SoundSport Headphones Does Not Connect To Bluetooth Device

The process in connecting Bose products to a Bluetooth device is a simple and easy process there are however instances where certain issues can occur such not being able to connect to a Bluetooth device using Bose SoundSport wireless headphones. Bluetooth devices can either be a mobile phone, tablet and or computer. In here, we are going to show you the recommended solutions that you can try to fix Bose SoundSport wireless headphones not connecting to Bluetooth

What to do if Bose SoundSport wireless headphones will not connect to a Bluetooth device

There are several factors that may have caused this particular problem to occur which we will talk about in this article. Factors such as Bluetooth settings not configured, distance between Bose product and device, memory lists of previously paired devices on the device is already full, a bug in the system or an outdated versions. Listed below are the troubleshooting solutions to fix Bose SoundSport headphones does not connect to a device.

Before we proceed with the solutions, take a look at Bose SoundSport wireless specification details:

If you are unable to connect to Bluetooth device with SoundSport headphones, try the following:

Solution 1: Disconnect headphone from charger

When the headphone is charging, it will automatically disable its Bluetooth settings. Although it is recommended to charge the headphone when needed, just make sure to disconnect the headphone from its charger if you want to connect to a Bluetooth device.

Solution 2: Enable Bluetooth settings menu

If Bluetooth settings on device is disabled, it will not establish a Bluetooth connection to Bose product. Therefore, make sure to enable Bluetooth on device. If wireless headphone and Bluetooth device has been previously paired to, it will automatically connect whenever Bluetooth setting is enabled.

Solution 3: Check distance between SoundSport headphone and device

The recommended Bluetooth range for SoundSport is within 33 feet or 10 meters. If wireless headphone is more than the required range from the device, it will not establish a connection with the device .Therefore, move SoundSport headphone close to the device.

Once SoundSport headphone is in close proximity with the device, try to connect the product to the device again and check if the issue still occurs.

Solution 4: Switch devices of from Headphone memory

SoundSport can store and remember the paired devices it was connected to before. If one of the previously paired devices is nearby, it will automatically reconnect and establish a Bluetooth connection. However, if more than one of the previously paired devices is nearby, you may need to to press the Power/Bluetooth button on the wireless headphone to switch among the available devices nearby. You will know if the correct device you want to connect to is the right one since you will hear the name of the device. Press again Power/Bluetooth button for the next device. Repeat these step until you will hear the name of the device you want to connect to.

Solution 5: Manually search SoundSport wireless headphone on device

If on the device Bose product does not appear on the lists you can manually search for the product. You can either refresh the lists by turning Bluetooth settings off and then turning it ON again. or you can tap on the search or scan button to search for available headphones nearby. Once headphone already appears on the lists, select it to start pairing and connecting.

Solution 6: Delete memory lists of previously paired devices

Bluetooth device can store the paired devices it was connected to. If the memory lists on Bluetooth devices of previously devices are full, it is possible that SoundSport wireless headset will not connect to Bluetooth device.

To fix this, you may need to delete the Bluetooth device list of previously paired device. This will allow you to create a new list and this time will only connect to the new available devices you want to connect to.

After memory lists has been deleted, try pairing SoundSport headphone again and then check if not connecting to Bluetooth device issue still occurs.

Solution 7: Check and install available updates

Outdated versions on the headphones can cause minor issues and the only way to fix this is to make sure that you have the latest version of the software. Updating ensures products has the latest features and products enhancements

Update using either of the following options:

  1. Via Bose connect app. An application that is free to download on iOS (App store) and Android devices (Google Play)
  2. Via Bose Updater found on Bose website. You need to download the application to the computer then connect Bose wireless headphone. Follow the onscreen instructions to check for and install available updates.

After installing the latest versions, try pairing SoundSport headphone again and then check if not connecting to Bluetooth device issue still occurs.

Solution 8: Reset Wireless headphone

If none of the solutions mentioned above did not fix not connecting to device issue on Bose product, you may need to reset the wireless headphone. Resetting refreshes the product and brings it back to its factory state. When reset process is done, saved settings will also be deleted.

To do this:

  1. Press Power button to turn off headphone
  2. After 30 seconds, connect wireless headphone to power outlet using a USB cable.
  3. After 5 seconds, remove headphone from the power outlet and remove USB cable.
  4. After about 1 minute, press Power button again to turn it ON.

Once wireless headphone has been reset, try pairing SoundSport headphone again and then check if not connecting to Bluetooth device issue still occurs.
