Bethesda Launches Original DOOM and DOOM II on the Play Store

Renowned game developer Bethesda has just released popular retro titles DOOM and DOOM II on the Google Play Store, marking the 25th anniversary since the release of the original DOOM. Both are paid apps and will set you back by $4.99 each, and the buyers can be assured of getting their money’s worth. While you probably won’t get much in terms of graphics performance, this is a novel way to enjoy your favorite childhood title on your smartphone or tablet.

Also included with DOOM is the fourth chapter expansion titled “Thy Flesh Consumed“, thus giving users the original DOOM experience the way it was intended. As for DOOM II, it comes with twenty community-created Master Levels while also offering 4-player multiplayer and co-op modes to play with your friends and family. As you can see, Bethesda is offering the complete package for DOOM fans.

As for those who are not acquainted with the franchise, DOOM and DOOM II will offer all the first-person shooting goodness one can ask for. We’ve seen multiple old titles being ported onto mobile devices, but it’s slightly surprising that Bethesda has waited this long to bring the title. But as they say, it’s better late than never. If you’re new to the franchise, be sure to check out the official gameplay trailers for both titles below.
