S9+ Intermittent Not Sending Text Message

Problem: I have a Samsung Galaxy S9+ that seems to have issues sending text messages. I see no error code on my end, but the message never transmits. The error is intermittent. Some messages go through, others do not. It has happened with iPhone and android users. I never really know which have gone through and which haven’t. Oddly enough, if I take a screenshot of the messages and send that, it seems to always go through. Just no idea what could be happening. I’m not sure which android version i have – I’m sorry!

Solution: There are several factors that can cause this problem which we will try to eliminate and pinpoint the exact cause by following the troubleshooting steps listed below. After performing a step immediately check if the issue still occurs. If it does then proceed to the next step.

  • Does the problem occur on a particular area or does this occur wherever you are? If it only occurs on a specific area then this might be caused by signal or network issues in that area.
  • Try to check if the problem is caused by your SIM by removing the SIM and placing it in another phone. Check if the issue occurs on this other device. It’s also best if you insert another SIM card in your phone then check if the same issue still occurs. This way you can eliminate any SIM card related problems.
  • Clear the cache and data of the text messaging app from the application manager.
  • Start the phone in Safe Mode. Does the problem occur in this mode? If it doesn’t then this could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S9+ Text Message Automatically Opens

Problem: I have the Verizon S9+. And each time I get a text message it automatically opens over any screen or game I’m currently using and when I reply it marks as an unread message in Message+. It’s like having or using two different messengers. Although I changed my settings to no pop ups, heads up, and the privacy setting to only show notifications in my status bar it still opens up and reveals my messages on my home screen or every screen when they come in. How can I stop/fix this so people doesn’t see my messages when my device is unlocked or in use?

Solution: If this problem occurs when using the Message+ app then the first thing that you need to do is to clear the cache and data of this app from the application manager. This will remove any corrupt data in the app which could be causing the problem.

If the problem still persists then I suggest that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S9+ Automatically Converts Text To Emoji

Problem: Hi, I have an issue with text messages which, although it may not sound like a big deal, is extremely annoying. My texting app by default converts “Bo” letter combination into an emoji in sunglasses. It happens every time I write or receive a text message that contains that letter combination. It’s particularly irritating since my last name begins with “Bo” and it does not make me look very serious when I sent text messages to clients with emojis in them. I have spoken to my carrier about it and they do not seem to know how to get rid of this problem. Is there a way to turn that feature (whatever it is) off while still enabling me to use emojis in my text messages when I choose to? Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Solution: Try clearing the cache and data of the keyboard app from the application manager. This will usually fix the problem.
