S7 Edge Keeps On Freezing

Problem: After using my S7 Edge for a few months, I put it in my office and didn’t touch it for a while as it was a secondary phone. It was on the wireless charging dock and I used the phone here and there over the course of the year. Then one day it went dark and wouldn’t turn back on. I tried a few things you recommended on site, but had to do a hard factory reset. Now it’s cleared, but it will freeze on the “Welcome” screen when trying to set it up after the reset. a few times out of 30, it hasn’t froze and I get about 4 screens in before it freezes again. I don’t know what OS I have, but it’s older. I can’t get the update because of the freezing. I hope you can help!

Solution: Does your phone have a microSD card installed? If it does then try removing this as this might be causing the problem. If the issue persists or if the phone does not have a microSD card installed then I suggest you start the phone in recovery mode then do the steps listed below.

  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone.
  • Do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data.

After performing the steps listed above do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then this is most likely a hardware related problem already in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Edge Stuck In Samsung Screen after Software Update

Problem: Hello, so on 5/6 i accepted an update on my galaxy S7 Edge then fell asleep during update. when i woke up my phone was just restarting over and over in a loop. it wouldn’t get past the first screen where it reads Samsung galaxy S7 Edge  powered by android. i’ve tried to run it in safety mode all it says is “installing system update” in a blue screen with the android logo. after that it shows the android logo “dead” with a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark inside of it then goes straight back to looping. have you guys seen this before or have any tips on what i should do. i will also add that it does have a cracked screen, but hasn’t been exposed to liquid. My guess is it’s all because of the update

Solution: For this particular issue you should remove the microSD card ( if your phone has one installed) then start the phone in recovery mode. In this mode proceed with wiping the cache partition of the phone then follow this up with a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data.

S7 Edge Keeps On Doing System Update

Problem: I was told I have a system update. I downloaded it, it installed, and I got a message saying everything was successful. When I clicked out of that notification, the whole process started again. I’ve now done this 6 times, with no end in sight. Can you help me? I’d rather not factory reset my phone if I don’t have to. Thanks!

Solution: If a factory reset is not an option then you can try to wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode. If this doesn’t work then you will need to perform a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.
