Note 8 Screen Only Works With S Pen
Problem: My Samsung note 8 touch screen is not responding to my finger but the S pen is working fine on the phone. I tried to restart and turn off the phone but it still didn’t work. I left it out side the sun on the beach for several hours before this happens. Don’t know if anything else I can do to fix it and if reset to factory will do or not. I have a screen protector on my phone. Please help.
Solution: The first thing you should do is to remove the screen protector of the phone as this might be causing the problem. In case the issue persists I suggest that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. If after the reset the issue still occurs then there’s a possibility that this is caused by a faulty digitizer. The best thing to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 8 Screen Is Black After Drop
Problem: My screen has went completely black. This began when I dropped my phone and then only one section of the screen went black on the top of the screen then within 5 mins the entire screen went black. I tried to hold down the power button and volume down button to reset but no luck. The only thing that responds is vibrate mode. I believe I may have had the phone on silent so I am not even sure if the phone turns on and the screen is just black or the entire phone is not working. Is this something you can assist me with. I would greatly appreciate it.
Solution: There’s a possibility that the drop might have damaged the phone display. To check if this is the case just start the phone in recovery mode. If the screen works in this mode then the issue could be caused by a software glitch. You will then need to do a factory reset in this mode. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data. However, if the screen still remains black even in recovery mode then you will need to have this checked at a service center.
Note 8 Screen Randomly Turns On
Problem: My phone screen keeps randomly turning on when I have no notifications. My WiFi is steady at home and I didn’t have mobile data on or any apps running in the background. My phone was charged before I went to bed and it did this throughout the night and was on 9% battery in the morning. I haven’t installed any new apps and the last time my phone system updated was a week ago and I didn’t notice any problems then.
Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this case is to check if a downloaded app is causing this problem by starting the phone in Safe Mode. If the issue does not occur in this mode then chances are it is caused by a third party app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
In case the issue still occurs in Safe Mode then you will have to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. This allows you to check if the problem is caused by a software glitch. Once the reset is complete immediately check if the issue still occurs.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you need to have the phone checked at a service center.
