J7 Stuck In Recovery Mode After Getting Wet

Problem: I dropped my Galaxy J7 in about 10 inches of water. I removed it immediately from the water and it was still working. I went to put it on the charger and turn it off and it said there was moisture in the charging port. I disconnected from the charger and was about to turn it off when it shut down on its own. Then I saw it was in recovery booting… mode. Is my phone salvageable or is it destroyed. I have tried the soft reboots and it is still stuck in the recovery booting loop.

Solution: It’s very likely that the problem is caused by water damaging some component inside the phone. The best thing that you can do right now is to place the phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb the moisture inside the phone. Once this is done do a soft reset by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons. Your phone should restart after this. If it doesn’t then check if you can access the recovery mode then do a factory reset from here. Take note that this will erase your phone data.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

J7 Stuck In Samsung Logo

Problem: My samsung J7 was absolutely fine until I selected a “hibernate apps” function (not used before) in Clean Master to apparently save battery life. Since it was taking a long time to close down apps I pressed cancel and the phone suddenly switched off and on 3 or 4 times till I could unlock the screen. The same thing happened again when resuming hibernate apps so I uninstalled Clean Master wondering if it has caused this problem but now despite removing that app, my phone will now not boot past the Samsung  logo screen… it often goes to the shut down samsung screen straight away then tries to boot up. I have done a soft reset and wipe cache partition. I have pressed power home and up volume till had recovery mode boot but then when press power to boot it says installing update which it then fails to finish and turns off. I’ve been stuck in this cycle for a few hours desperately trying to connect my phone to my pc for even a minute at a time to salvage data by direct transfer. The phone just stays stuck on first startup screen then turns off and tries again. A few days ago I did actually have a virus infection warning when browsing the internet but my antivirus scanned the phone and said it was ok. It just makes continuous vibrate noises while going on and off like its convulsing. I can’t get the phone to turn on and stay on.

Solution:  The best thing that you can do right now is a factory reset in recovery mode. Take note that this will erase your phone data.

  • Turn off your phone.
  • Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Home key, then press and hold the Power key.
  • When the device logo screen displays, release only the Power key
  • When the Android logo displays, release all keys (‘Installing system update’ will show for about 30 – 60 seconds before showing the Android system recovery menu options).
  • Press the Volume down key several times key to highlight ‘wipe data / factory reset.’
  • Press Power button to select.
  • Press the Volume down key until ‘Yes — delete all user data’ is highlighted.
  • Press Power button to select and start the master reset.
  • When the master reset is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
  • Press the Power key to restart the device.

J7 Does Not Turn On Is SIM Card Is Inserted

Problem: Hello Android Guy, About 3 days ago I was using on my phone (J7)  when it suddenly went off. I tried to power it on again but it didn’t work until i plugged in the charger. I realized that the phone immediately goes off if I power it on with any SIM card in it. It works fine without the SIM card currently. I tried factory reset or clearing the cache as well in the recovery mode but I’m getting this error: “Failed to clear BCB message: failed to find /misc partition”. Your help to fix my phone will be very much appreciated. Thank you

Solution: Unfortunately, this is most likely a hardware related problem already caused by a faulty component. The best thing you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
