J7 Screen Keeps Timing Out

Problem: I just bought a samsung galaxy j7. It keeps timing out every 3 seconds even though it’s set for 10 minutes. I already reset the phone and this did not fix the problem . Any ideas on how to fix it? Thank you.

Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this case is to make sure that the timeout is set properly.

  • Tap the Apps icon
  • Tap Settings.
  • Tap Display.
  • Tap Screen timeout.
  • Select the desired time setting: 15 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute, 2 minutes, 5 minutes, 10 minutes

In case the issue persists then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Check if the issue occurs when the phone is started in Safe Mode. If it doesn’t then this could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center if this is the case.

J7 Screen Turns On Randomly

Problem: Hello My new Samsung galaxy J7 keeps turning itself on unrequested. I turn it off and seconds later screen is in again. It happens continuously. Many thanks is for your help!

Solution: What you should do first in this case is to check if an app you installed is causing the problem by starting the phone in Safe Mode. If the problem does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

In case the issue still occurs even in Safe Mode then I suggest that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone just yet. Try checking first if the issue still occurs.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to have this checked at a service center.

J7 Not Turning On After Getting Wet

Problem: Water damage – son jumped in pond w/ phone in pocket I’ve removed battery and sim card and dried phone w/ 90% isopropyl alcohol. It turns on but only flashes the galaxy name and attempts to boot up repeatedly. With the new battery in place I tried your techniques to soft/hard reboot, but only periphery of screen can be visualized. At the bottom it says “successfully verified dmverity hash tree” The center of the screen is not visualized. Thank you for your help

Solution: If you have already dried the phone and the problem still occurs then this is most likely caused by a water damaged component already. You will need to bring the phone to a service center and have this checked.

J7 Screen Not Responding After Software Update

Problem: Hi, my J7 worked fine till last week, but now when the software is updated  last month since then the upper part of the screen started to become not responding. now it completely stopped responding, I am not able to pull the notification bar and it doesn’t have any scratches or any fell down issues.please tell me what might be the issue.

Related Problem: Hello, my screen wont turn on I’ve tried everything from soft resetting and plugged it and and I know the plug work. The blue led turns on and off. Sometimes if i just tap the bixby and power button half of the screen shines a very dim white. Please help

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to start the phone in recovery mode then from here do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data. Restart the phone then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then the digitizer of the phone could be damaged. You will need to have this checked at a service center if this is the case.

J7 Screen Flickers After Phone Dropped

Problem: My mom dropped her galaxy J7 and now it only displays half the screen and the other half is white and it flickers. She can still accept calls and can use what she can see. Sometimes the full screen isn’t displayed then it flickers to half.

Solution: Unfortunately this appears to be a hardware related problem already most likely caused by a damaged display. Try restarting the phone then check if the issue still occurs. Id it does then you will need to have this checked at a service center.
