J3 Charging Paused Battery Temperature Too Low

Problem: Hi, I have a Galaxy J3 phone which I can’t get to charge up as when I connect to the charger it has a window which pops up saying “Unable to charge” Charging paused. Battery temperature too low . Where it used to do this periodically it is now doing it all the time

Solution: This issue can be caused by various factors most of which are hardware related. There’s also the possibility that this is caused by a software glitch which is what you should troubleshoot first by backing up your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete and the problem still remains then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Try cleaning the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in the port.
  • Make sure that the phone is free from moisture. Place the phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb the moisture inside the phone.
  • Try charging the phone with a different charging cord and wall charger.
  • If your model is the one with a removable battery then try replacing this with a new one.

In case the above steps fail to fix the problem then this might be caused by a faulty charging port or motherboard. The best thing to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

J3 Not Turning On Unless Power Button Is Held

Problem: Last night while playing a game my Samsung J3 shut down. The first startup screen kept replaying on its own. When I push the power button I thought it was going to start but as soon as I released the button I got black screen and repeat of first startup screen. I was able to turn it on as long as I held the power button down but again as soon as I released the power button it went to black screen. No other buttons worked. This morning I reset to factory but there is no change in the power button….i need to continuously hold it down to use the phone. I hope you can give me a simple solution to this problem. Thank you.

Solution: What you will want to do right now is to make sure that the battery of the phone has sufficient charge by following the steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air.
  • Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using its wall charger.
  • If the phone does not charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also try charging the phone from a computer USB port.

Once the phone has charged try turning it on.

In case the issue still persists then check if you are able to start the phone in recovery mode without constantly holding the power button. If the phone can start in this mode then I suggest that you perform a factory reset to eliminate any software related glitches that could be causing the problem. Take note that this will erase your phone data.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this might be caused by a faulty power button.

J3 Stuck In Samsung Screen

Problem: I own a J3 – it was frozen while it’s on, so i did the  Volume down/Power-Method. It’s responding on that, but won’t start – it hang’s in the first black Screen with the  Samsung Logo and stays there… if i do the Keys again and hold the Volume down longer than Power, it turns off… It responding on charging normally (red LED, Battery-Logo with percent). If i press only Power, it will try to start, but stops at the 1st Samsung-Screen… I’ve followed your complete Troubleshooting Guide without success… …no way to get to the Download/Boot-Menu… I’ve no further idea…

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to remove the microSD card of the phone (if you have one installed) then start the device in recovery mode. From here I suggest that you wipe the cache partition of the phone then follow this up with a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.
